For Immediate Release Press Contact: Tom Shinall, TMP Director of Marketing [email protected] 770-387-1300 SECOND ANNUAL MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOLS ART EXHIBITION ON VIEW NOW AT BOOTH WESTERN ART MUSEUMMore than 70 student-artists, representing nine area schools, featured in exhibitionCARTERSVILLE, GA – Booth Western Art Museum is proud to announce the showing of the secondannual Middle & High Schools Art Exhibition in Borderlands Gallery. On view through April 9, thisexhibit features 74 2-D and 3-D pieces of work (64 2-D and 10 3-D) by 72 student-artists that arerepresented from our local city, county and private middle and high schools.“Here at the Booth Western Art Museum our mission is to foster the education and exploration of art inour community” says Mersia Martin, Booth Museum education outreach coordinator. “To this end we workwith local teachers to choose outstanding artwork created by students throughout the year. We areexcited to display such talented students and believe we are showcasing the next generation of art.”Throughout the year, art teachers in each middle and high school expose their students to a wide varietyof art mediums and challenging lessons. Each of the displayed artwork pieces have been created bystudents, grades six through twelve, throughout the 2016-2017 school year. Visitors to Booth Museumduring this show will see pieces of original art from paintings, collages, ceramic pieces, and more fromstudent-artists representing nine schools within Bartow County: Adairsville Middle and High, CartersvilleMiddle and High, Cass Middle and High, Excel Christian Academy, South Central Middle and WoodlandMiddle.An official exhibition opening reception for the student-artists and their families will be held on Thursday,March 23 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Booth Western Art Museum. Light refreshments will be available inthe Borderlands Meeting Room courtesy of Publix Super Market at Main Street Cartersville. The Middle &High Schools Art Exhibition will remain on display in Borderlands Gallery until April 9, 2017.
