WYSIWYG is an editing system used in web design. It implies that thecontent display during programming is like the final user experience.Director’s NoteOur entire lives are filled with contradictions and duality. We are facedwith contrasting thoughts and images all day long: “Be yourself…but bethinner”. “Love who you want…as long as it’s the opposite sex”. “Be afree thinker… but if you don’t think my way then you’re wrong”. Frombillboards and ads to movies and television we are bombarded with thefact that we’re not quite good enough for the world. So, instead ofmaking the changes that we actually want, we turn to the almighty, allknowing, fake news and false security of the internet. Here we canbecome who and what we have wanted to be from the start. We canfabricate a life for ourselves in the hopes of getting noticed, liked, andeven loved. The characters in “WYSIWYG” are no exception. We see them strugglewith their everyday lives, which leads them to create a new existence onthe web which contradicts their true reality. Luckily, they discover thatliving online really isn’t living at all. So, please. We implore you. Log outand log in to life. You will be the duality to hate and shame. You will be‘you’, and that’s what truly matters. Brandon Bill
