Flapper the ISA Brown hen and her owner The sights you see in Lonnie...Eliane Janes enjoy breakfast at Pasquinis, aftera dip at the Point Lonsdale front beach. Eggs on toast - yes eggs! - and a chooka-cino were on the menu when one particularly plucky customer sat down for breakfast at Pasquinis cafe. Flapper the ISA Brown hen had just finished a morning dip in the front beach. \"She actually does drink coffee, but not at the moment because she's moulting and she's a bit off caffeine. She still like her grapes and ice cream, though,\" said owner Elaine Janes. The pair met when Elaine, already a chicken owner, found Flapper wandering in the street. They have been inseperable since. A trip to Lonnie is a regular outing for the \"social butterfly\" of the brood. \"She's the Madonna, the Diva, I can't take out my others because I can't afford to get Flapper jealous,\" said Elaine. \"I love my chickens, they're my family, they've all of got.\" Photos courtesy Wes Bowler - LonniesnapsMOTHERS DAYHIGH TEA $45EXPLORE TRAVEL RELAX per personTHURS - SUN I 10AM-4PM The Rip May 2017 Page 4

Our truly Eggcellent Good Friday result The Queenscliff Bowling Club's Good Friday Eggstravaganza has raised a record $38,000 for the Royal Children's Hospital. Hay was sent flying as hundreds of children and adults took part in the drawcard egg hunts. Local businesses donated thousands of dollars in goods for auction on the day and school children set up their own stalls - hair braiding, football handball competitions and nail polish bar - contributing upwards of $700 to the tally. The final result takes the amount raised by the club during the event's four years, to more than $100,000 Pictured, left: local children hold up the donation cheque, Below left Meagan Canaway and Kerrie Henderson, children line up for the egg hunt, Geoff Stevens and Bob Merriman.
