KEYNOTE SPEAKER SHAU-WAI LAM ‫ڒ‬սၿ, Chairman Emeritus DCH Auto Group (USA) NJCACC 2004 Chair’s Business of the Year Award RecipientShau-wai Lam joined DCH (USA), in 1967 with initial assignments in international trade, which included thedomestic sales of imported textile and food products. In 1977 DCH (USA) began to venture into automobileretailing with its first dealership, DCH Paramus Honda in New Jersey. Shau-wai was sent to Los Angeles to launchDCH (USA)’s Western Region in 1979. He was responsible for the start-up of DCH Gardena Honda and DCHTustin Acura, both of which became the top national ranked dealerships of their respective franchises under hissupervision.In 1988, Shau-wai returned to the East Coast after he was appointed President of DCH (USA). In 1992, he becameChairman when the Lam family, along with the Wing On Group of Hong Kong, acquired the U.S. operation fromDCH Hong Kong. Shau-wai and his colleagues together helped to grow DCH Auto Group to consistently rankedamong the top ten automobile retailers in the nation. It won more J.D. Power and Associates Dealer of ExcellenceAwards than any other dealer groups. Four of its dealerships were selected as Automobile News Top 100Dealerships to Work For in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In October 2014, DCH (USA) was acquired by Lithia Motors Inc.and became a division of this highly regarded, publicly traded auto group. CHINESE CULTURAL AMBASSADOR AWARD JIM HUANGเ૨ Kai Yue FoundationJim Huang is the founder and president of Kai Yue Foundation established by Huang family in 2010. It is a privatecharity organization dedicated to supporting local Chinese American communities and promoting culture and artdevelopment. The foundation has organized and sponsored many culture exchange events. Jim Huang is thefounder and CEO of a hedge fund based in Princeton NJ. Previously he was a Managing Director at JPMorganChase and a Portfolio Manager at the Clinton Group.Jim Huang got his Ph. D. from Simon Fraser University (Canada), M.S. from Institute of High Energy Physics(China) and B.S. from Peking University. COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD AMY MAK CHANౘ౪ሒ‫ځ‬, Founder Celestial Love Foundation, Inc.Mrs. Amy Mak Chan immigrated into the U.S. from Hong Kong in the mid-1980’s. In 1985, she became involved inthe funeral services industry serving the Chinese community. With her strong gumption and extraordinary grace,she wholeheartedly leads her staff in providing full-scale funeral services for the deceased and their families. Sheis currently the President of Fook Funeral Group, with four locations in metropolitan New York area.On November 1997, Mrs. Chan founded the Celestial Love Foundation, Inc. whose fundamental principle is toenable certain members of the community to walk the final journey of their life with dignity. She organized theprofessional and community leaders in the Chinese community who wanted to fulfill their deeds through charity.Since its inception, the Celestial Love Foundation, Inc. has been supported by these financial contributions.The foundation follows good business practices and abides by its By-Law to determine if a grant would be made,the manner in which would be distributed, and the level of support. The foundation makes certain that every dimeraised is used to assist those most in need.Mrs. Chan in February 2006, she was presented with the ‘Community Service Award’ by Director Ronald Langstonand Associate Director Chiling Tong of the Minority Business Development Agency. She also received the‘Community Service Award’ from Gouveneur Hospital, Transfiguration Church, Hamilton Madison House andChinese American Planning Council. Further, Metropolitan Jewish Hospice presented Mrs. Chan the 2010Community Leadership Award for her dedication, effort and commitment to preserving the quality of life inthe community.In 2015, as part of her endeavors in caring for the senior citizens in the community, Mrs. Chan started to serve onthe Chinese Advisory Council of Selfhelp Community Service. As a prestigious singer and producer, Mrs. Chanalso regularly offers benefit concerts to entertain the seniors from both Chinatown and Flushing communities.On June 15th, 2016, Mrs. Chan was honored by Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts at the historic FlushingTown Hall for her dedication to the betterment of the community.

DIVERSITY CHAMPION AWARD TERRENCE CLARK, President & CEO NY/NJ Minority Supplier Development Council Inc.Terrence Clark serves as the President and CEO of the New York New Jersey Minority Supplier DevelopmentCouncil. At the Council, Terrence provides operational oversight and carries out full management and operationalresponsibilities for the Council staff including personnel, administration, work delegation and performanceevaluations. He also provide supervision and direction related to the Council program areas and activities in theCouncil’s market areas which are the State of New York and New Jersey up to the Trenton area.Prior to this position, he served as the Vice President of Entrepreneurship and Business Development for theNational Urban League, where he was responsible for the management of all of the small business andentrepreneurship programs. Terrence also served as the Senior Vice President, Knowledge Sharing forOpportunity Finance Network, where he was responsible for the management consulting, training and annualconference lines of business for community development financial institutions nationwide.Over the course of his career, he has served in a variety of leadership positions for community and economicdevelopment organizations over the past twenty five years. He served as the Executive Director of the 47th StreetBusiness Improvement District for nine years assisting the 2,600 business owners in New York’s Diamond Districtin improving economic conditions in the district and marketing its services to a wider client base. He started as a US-based trading company andbegan an aggressive strategic alliance to vertically integrate manufacturing operations to support branded andprivate label programs with world wide distribution. She has a Bachelor’s Degree inMaterial Science from East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai, a Master's Degree inChemical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering fromNew Jersey Institute of Technology, as well as a Master's degree in Business Management (MBA) from ExecutiveMBA program offered jointly by Lucent Technologies-Bell Labs and Stevens Institute of Technology. Dolly has 15years of experience working in several Fortune 500 companies in engineering and business management areas(companies such as Lucent Technologies – Bell Labs (now Nokia), International Technology Corporation(now the Shaw Group Inc.), etc.).Dolly is married with two children. During her children’s primary and secondary school life, Dolly spent countlesshours volunteering in her children’s schools for 14 years. She also worked as a volunteer teacher for six years atRise Academy (a KIPP charter school in Newark). She values education and has a passion for providing highquality educational service to US local and international students. Dolly opened the JEI Warren Learning Centerin January 2004. Since then, she has provided high quality academic tutoring and educational counselingservices to hundreds of local and international students. She has successfully helped dozens of local studentsapplying to private schools. She has helped many students reach their academic excellence in school and winlocal and national awards in Writing Competition and Math Olympiad. Each year, the JEI Warren summer campnot only attracts many local students, but also international students from China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, St. Martin,Macao, Hong Kong, and Singapore. She has also provided detailed counseling services to many Chinesestudents applying to the US boarding schools. She has successfully helped many Chinese students realize theirdreams of studying in the US. Dolly has been guardian to several students from China attending US boardinghigh schools. Over the years she has provided guidance and counseling in academics and assisted them in lifeadjustment in the US.OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO NJCACCKIN-CHUNG HUI , Market Strategy ManagerDCH Auto GroupKin-chung has 16 years of working experience in the automotive retail industry. He coordinated the developmentof business relations with Chinese organizations and Chinese communities. He also managed programssupporting dealership operations, including managing a centralized purchasing program to reduce expenses,bringing in service products and after-sales products to increase revenue opportunities, coordinating departmentmanager roundtables, and conducting wholesale auctions to dispose aged pre-owned inventory.Prior to working in DCH automotive operations, Kin-chung was the General Manager of the DCH Food Division forover 20 years. The Division imported Chinese food products from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand,Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand , and Mexico for distribution in the Eastern United States. He did extensivetravel in Southeast Asia for product sourcing during those years. Besides imports, the Division also exported U.S.and Canadian food products to Taiwan, Japan and Hong Kong.Kin-chung was born in China, and raised and educated in Hong Kong. He graduated from the Chinese Universityof Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. 17
