Network depth and sea temp source selection Improvements (part I)
Network depth and sea temp source selection. • Previous ly any Ethernet s ource of depth and s ea temperature from either a Network Echos ounder module or from an MFD had to be converted from Ethernet to NMEA 2000 by one or more nominated MFDs . • S etting a depth or s ea temp s ource us ed to be a two s tep proces s 1. Nominate an MFD to convert the Depth Temp to NMEA 2000 under S ettings > Echo > “Us e temp and depth data from..” 2. S et to S ource for Depth and Temp under S ettings > Network>S ources
Network depth and sea temp source selection. • In this vers ion, for s ys tems without a network echos ounder module, it is only a one s tep proces s to s et the network data s ource for Temp or Depth. It is no longer neces s ary to go to S ettings > Echo and nominate an MFD to trans late. If there is no Network Echosounder module, the “Use network depth and temp” under the Settings > Echo menu is now redundant and will say “Disabled”.
Depth Source Selection: No Network Echosounder Module The selection of network depth is easier now. Go to Settings > Network >Sources > Depth. The system will present a list of all available potential sources of depth. Note: the list can be made smaller by disabling the Internal Echo sounders of the MFDs that don’t have a transducer attached.
Sea Temp. Source Selection: No Network Echosounder Module The selection of network Sea temperature is easier now. Go to Settings > Network >Sources > Sea temp The system will present a list of all available potential sources of sea temperature. Note: the list can be made smaller by disabling the Internal Echo Sounder of the MFDs that don’t have any transducers attached.
Depth Source Selection: With Echosounder Module For systems where there is a Network Echosounder Module such as S5100 or SonarHub, depth and temp source selection works in the same way as in previous versions. Under Settings Echo, select “Use network depth & temp data” , then go to Settings > Network and select the source.
