Water Polo is basically like soccer but in the water. Youtry making as many goals as you can before the time is up.To stop the other team from making goals, you tug onthem, get them away from the ball, or even try dunkingthem under the water, but it's only legal to do these thingsunder the water (where the ref can't see). The teamsconsist of students fromJordan, Altd, Taylorsville,Bingham, and Riverton. The varsity teams are splitbetween the girls and theguys. On the boys varsityteam from Jordan we haveTravts Lyman and JakeCampbell. On the girlsvarsity team from JordanWe have Marcel Killpack.T~e JV teams are playedWith girls and guys team~~·-combined. Academic Decathlon is an interdisciplinary curriculum In which a selected theme Is integrated across six different subject areas: art, economics, language and literature, music, science and social science. The theme for this year's curriculum is The Great Depression. While In most subjects the majority of the topics relate to the overall curricular theme, some topics that cover fundamentals may also be Included to encourage a thorough understanding of the subject area as a whole. The selected literature is The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. The goal is to communicate the Importance of academic achievement by motivating high schools In Utah to sponsor Academic Decathlon teams. There is no better way for a high school to shine In academics than to let their students showcase their abilities In the areas of Essay, Speech and Interview, Art, Music, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Super Quiz, and Language and Literature.Being in AcDec is so muchfun and I love it when Iget a high score on a test!
