from soggy red licorice kissed to banana cream eyebrows. \"Get Ac- quainted\" became not only disgusting- ly messy. but energetic and full of ex- citement. It aroused spirit in all stu- dents whether actually participating i!\"l the events or just screaming their throats sore supporting their team. This year's \"Get Acquainted\" became a successful explosion of Digger spirit, and it set the beginning to a year of united classes and school pride. It was an assembly full of laughter as we wit- nessed our friends wear diapers and drink from baby bottles, and we even heard the silence of suspense under quiet breaths of ooo's and ahh's as our muscle men flexed their bodies to up their team's score. And even bigger crowd pleasers were the traditional onion bob, balloon shave, relay race, spoon connection, and tug-o-war. It took three years of practice for this year's seniors to perfect the events; but they were successful in a dominat- mg victory followed by the juniors in second, sophomores third, and the freshmen putting up a tough battle for last place. for the seniors, it was an exciting status of strength and spirit; for the rest of us. we anxiously await- ed our next chance to prove our power and school unity.Jeremy Crystal remembers his younger years.Jill Young. what a ''babel''Mall Bentley says \"ooooh. blah ... onions.\" Get Acquainted 21
