There is no one else, we just wanted to be the bestand we are best. As the seventy-fifth birthday cele-bration came to a close, students reflected back on aschool year that was the best one yet. Throughoutthe year, student leaders, actors, actresses, athletes, scholars, vocational industrialists, spirit leaders, mu-sicians, artist, homemakers, and students in otherareas of the school performed their best - triedtheir hardest, and succeeded in making Jordan HighSchool Simply the Best! This past year, the drama department put on twoof the best productions seen in a long time. In thefall, the play Arsenic and Old Lace was performedand sell-out crowds were found at each perfor-mance. \"It was a really funny play! I like it a lot, andso did the other half million people who came!\"exclaimed Kristy Brown. Also, the spring perfor-mance of The Sound of Music was enjoyed by many. Numerous assemblies entertaineds those who at-tended and boosted spirit and pride. \"The assem-blies were really good. I missed a couple of them-like the Senior assembly, but I heard it was good.\"stated Diane Bowen. \"It sure was good!\" confirmedBrian Seamons. \"It was an awesome assembly! Thebest!\" Spirit and pride are two of the things that manypeople had in common. These traits bonded stu-dents together and that helped in raising money forSub for Santa. This funding project provided 14 fam-ilies with food, clothing, and toys for a very merryChristmas.continued on page 165

We 're tlte Best! A new dance entered the scene this year. Jordan's first annual MORP Took the place of the Senior Hop with the theme of Newsprint with black and white decor. In December the Yearbook Staff hosted a Christmas Stag to raise money for the yearbook. These dances accompanied those that have come to be old friends: Homecoming, Dog Patch Drag, Junior Prom, Sweethearts Ball, Senior Dinner Dance, and Charlonian's Ball. JSH students had many fun pastimes which were displayed every day of the week. Some peoples chose to spend their time at the local mall or movie theatre scouting out attractive members of the op- posite sex, while others found dance clubs more exciting place to hang out. Lazer dances at the PHO- TON seemed to be quite popular. \"It's a neat place to go on a first date, or to meet people. It's a very futuristic place,\" exp lained Michelle Young. When it came to the fashion scene, :;tudents were right in the middle of it. A wide variety of styles were found throughout the school, each as unique as the person displaying it. Athletic teams made a wide display of excellence. Athletes performed extremely well and had a lot of fun uniting as a team and becoming the best of friends. Maybe we did not bring home every state trophy, capture of every title, but if spirit and pride meant anythi ng in the competition, we would be world champions because Jordan High School is Simply the Best!
