HOMECOMING \"Color My World\" was the theme of the HomecomingDance. This well-organized, beautifully decorated dance wassponsored by DECA. GETACQUAINTED Races, tug-o-war, obstacle course andchug-a-lug were only a few of the events atthe Get Acquainted Assembly. The student-body officers sponsored the event whichwas won by the seniors. JORDAN OlYMPICS=KEEN COMPETITION Jordan High Olympics were held onJanuary 12, 1979. This is a traditionalassembly that is held for class compe-tition. Some events were: marshmellowstuff, JUmp rope, relay race, licoricekiss, marshmellow dip, and jello snarff.The seniors were this year's Olymp1cChamps. SENIOR WEEK Senior Week was filled with many exciting events forSeniors. On Wednesday a Great Assembly was put onby the Seniors, \"Smokey and the Bandit\" was shownon Friday, and the Senior Hop was Saturday night. John Paul I died of a massive stroke just 33 days after he had been chosen as the Roman Catholic Pope. Church Cardinals met together to select a new pope to lead the 700 million Roman Catholics. Cardinal Karol Wojtyla, Pope John Paul II, became the first Polish Pope in history.She was born at 11:47 p.m. with a lusty yell,and it was a cry heard around the brave new~orld. Louise Brown, blond, blue-eyed andJUst under six pounds, was the first child inhistory to be conceived outside of her moth-er's body. Her birth was in a British milltown.
