As you walk down the halls, rather than hearing \"Hey Aaron Cowdell\" or \"Hi Shawn Richardson!\" You would hear \"Hey Whitey\" and \"Hi Beaver!\" Many people were known only by their nick names. If you said Justin Jarvis you might have received some blank stares, but if you said \"Peanut,\" there was no dought as to who it was. Sometimes people get their nick names from certain occa- sions. Aaron Jenkins got the nick name \"Air Rone\" from his friends because he broke the basketball backboard. Other nick names come about because of actions such as Travis Pelch: Mat Cleaner, and John Montoya: 8 Ball. Whatever the reason is for a nick name, whether logical, funny, or embarrasing, nick names seem to stick and are more personal then just a given name. COLOPHON For the entire 1990-91 year, the devoted members of the yearbook staff slaved overthe seventy-first edition of The Beetdigger. Twelve hundred books \·Vere sent to Sandyfrom Jostens American Yearbook Company of Visalia, California. The one hundred seventy-six page book was printed on high gloss paper. Theendsheets were printed on \vhite paper shaded 100% Red, 60% Black ink. The dividerscontain a picture that is consistant with the front cover, and a picture that best describesthe section. Body copy is consistant throughout the book at twelve point Times Roman.C<lptions are ten point, with a twelve poin bold, it<llic lead-in. People names are done inten point, the index in eight point, and the Staff and Colophon are done in twelve point. Each headline was typeset on the Macintosh computer as selected by the section editors. The book was sold for twenty dollars to students during registration in thesummer. Scott Adams took all class portraits. All other photographs in the book weretaken by various yearbook photographers. The book was done on the Jostens Yeartech program using the PageMaker 3.02software. The staff would like to thank their Jostens Representative , Bill Baker, for hisV<lluable time and advice. A special thanks goes to James Cheng for the many hours hevolunteered every d<ly after school helping students learn their way around the Mac.Also, a great big thanks goes to Robert Shelton for advising the book and often supplyingpizza's and chocolate to weary staff members. The editor would like to thank everyonewho made a sacrficcd so much time and energy to make this book possible.
