CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS IMPACT ON THE BIRD
A new study shows that seasonal bird migrations are taking place earlier than usual due to climate change.
BIRD MIGRATION PATTERNS The research team observed in the study that the temperature and the timing of migration are closely parallel. It was found that the largest changes in the timing of migration occurred more quickly in regions of \"warming\", but that the change in the timing of migration was less pronounced in the autumn.
FALL MIGRATION Horton says the lack of change in autumn migration patterns was a bit surprising, although migration also tends to be more messy during those months. He explains that in the spring we see a large rush of migratory birds, as they move at a fairly rapid pace, eventually reaching the breeding grounds, however, during the fall, there is not much pressure to reach winter lands, and migration tends to move at a slower pace.
