M anagementof DifferentProject: A Literature Review SampleAbstract Throughouttheyears,especiallyrecently,previousprojectshavebeenimplemented as a delivery mechanism which does business whileaccomplishing theirobjectives.There isno doubtthatitwillultimatelybecomeoneofthebestandthefastestgrowingtypesofprofessionsinthewholeworld.Eventhoughtheunderstandingofwhatactuallyconstitutesaproject,andwhatdoesnot,continuestobecomeatopicwhichisinvolvedindebates.Thispaperwillattempttopresentaliteraturesearchonwhataprojectis,itscharacteristics,classification,phases,lifecycleandtools.LiteratureReviewEachoneofusplayaroleasamanagerofdifferentprojects.From theroleofahousewife,afinancialanalyst,toaproductionemployee,weallworkonourownsetoftasks.Thesetaskscomewiththeirowndeadlines.Regardlessofthetypeofjobthatyouhaveorthetasksyouhaveathand,weallworkonspecifictasksthataredescribedasunique,involvingpeoplewhodonottypicallyworktogetheringeneralsituations.Theprojectmaybeboundwithasimpleobjectivewhichdoesnotneedalotofpeopleorahugeamountofresources,oritmayturnouttobequitecomplex,requiringtheneedforpeoplewithdiverseskills,andalotofresources,especiallyfinancially.

Even though there are a numberofdefinitionsofprojectsacrossdifferentreviews,oneofthebesthasbeenpresentedbyThompson(1985),stating:“Aprojectreferstoanorganizationinvolvingpeoplewhoare dedicated to aparticularobjective orpurpose.These projectstypicallyinvolve expensive,large,high risk,orunique undertakingswhichneedstobecompletedatacertaindate,foraspecificbudget,andsomerequiredperformancelevel.Ataminimum,theseprojectshavetobepresentedwithwell-definedobjectives,aswellassufficientresourcesinordertoperformalloftherequiredtasks. InlinewiththedefinitionthatisprovidedbyPrahar&Sim(1990),whichhasbeenacceptedwiththepurposeofresearch,aprojectmaybedefinedaccordingtothesecharacteristics:1.Apre-determinedstartandend(timeofcompletion)2.Apre-determinedsetofgoals(expectations)3.Aseriesofinterrelatedorcomplexactivities4.AspecifiedbudgetDillon& Lhuillier(2005)alsorevieweddifferentprojectmanagementliteraturewhichareoutlinedasasetofdimensionsforevaluationwhichregularlyappeareventhoughnotaccordingtothesameoccurrence:1.Respecttotraditionalconstraints2.Clientsatisfaction3.Satisfactionofobjectivesaspre-determinedviathelogicalframework
