The problem is that you’ve been programmed not to believe this. Society tells you that your writing must be 100% perfect. Look, I'll be honest with you. I also used to struggle with writing. Especially in English, as it's my second language. For years I wanted people to buy and enjoy my writing, but I never delivered. Why? Fear to being judged. BOOKISH FEATURE - Set the goal to write between 5K and 20k words for your ebook. Make it easier on yourself to write these words. “How,” you ask? Break the ebook into small chapters. In fact, this is how I constructed this fantastical course. I wrote down all the Mind Barriers I could think of. Wrote a ton of words about how to destroy each of them. And then I edit it down, edit the text, and added new information if I deemed fit. Simple actions you can take right now to get started: Establish your word-count goal Break the ebook into small chapters Divide the chapters into smaller sections (optional) Write between 1K to 5K word for each chapter Finally, leave the editing for last. 5 to 10 chapters is ok for an ebook. To be honest, if you follow this simple guideline, you'll have your ebook in no time. So, if you want, stop ”reading and start writing. MENTAL BARRIER #7: ” “IT'S NOT A WORTHWHILE ENDEAVOR FOR ME.” By writing about your experiences, you might be helping someone level up. First, think of how many people you can help with your ebook. Do you remember all the hard work and frustration it took you to reach your level? Write down all your past frustrations. Write down the process of learning. Write down your 'before/after'. Edit this information. Turn in into an Ebook. Upload it to Gumroad or any other platform. And profit. What no one ever told you about selling Ebooks: Sell 30 ebooks at $27 = $810 That's selling 1 ebook per day during a month. Extra $4,050 in your piggy bank. BOOKISH FEATURE MENTAL BARRIER #8: “IF I ONLY HAD THE RIGHT RESOURCES AND TOOLS...” Hey! You only need 3 resources: 1. Your ideas 2. A word processing app 3. Internet For example, I wrote this short chapter on Pages for Mac because I had no internet while I was writing it. You could also use Microsoft Word (paid). Or better yet, Google Docs. I wrote my first e-book using it. I used it to write this course too. The best thing about using Google Docs is that you can share the document with your friends and ask them to spell check your body of work. MENTAL BARRIER #9: ” “I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE PAYMENTS.” HYou won't need to handle the payments. ” During this course, you will learn the fundamentals of Gumroad. Gumroad will handle all the payments for you. They will send the money to PayPal. So your only job is to transfer the money from PayPal to your bank account. MENTAL BARRIER #10: “I HAVE A 9-TO-5 JOB. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME.” When someone says they don't have the time, it means one of two things: 1. They do not care about the topic 2. They’re afraid to start their venture If you cannot find time to write about your ideas, please meditate on why you can't. Maybe you think you cannot write well. Or perhaps you prefer to spend your time watching Netflix. You’ve read many of the Mind Barriers already. See if any of those ring a bell to you. BOOKISH FEATURE MENTAL BARRIER #11: “I TRIED ONCE AND FAILED HARD” Learn how to fail forward. Failing forward means having many ways to win and fewer ways to lose. Maybe the market wasn't ready for your ideas. Or maybe your sales page sucked. In my experience, most failed endeavors are because of a crappy sales page. Later in the course, I’ll show how to create a simple sales pages. Bear in mind that if things don't go as planned, you can use the new ebook as a lead magnet. MENTAL BARRIER #12: ” “AWW, MAN.
