eXPAnsIon foAM stICKYBACK & non stICKYBACK nRP eXPAnsIon JoInt uses • STICKYBACK Closed Cell Foam used in construction. • STICKYBACK Expansion Joint Foam makes it very easy to install expansion joints in form work. • It is a flexible foam joint between two concrete surfaces. • STICKYBACK lets you stick the expansion joint to the existing form work, wall or structure and it will hold in place till you pour the concrete up to the Stickyback expansion joint. Once set, you can then tear off the 10mm recessed zip to finish the job. • Stickyback will reduce labour times installing the expansion joint in your slab or form work. • Widely used as a fire retardant compressible joint filler between slabs. • Also used in Concrete Driveways and Kerbing. PlAstIC DeCK RAIl The 750mm long plastic deck rail is a continuous Spacer for formwork applications. Designed with sets of vertical legs at approximately 75mm centres and another vertical leg in between the sets; the deck rail is strong and stable, yet provides minimum exposure. Another feature is the male and female connection at either end to join rail on rail to any given length. Once connected the clip will not separate; a must for large projects. Clipping bar chairs onto the reinforcement or “chairing up” after the reinforcement has been placed is now eliminated. Polyethylene tape for isolating sealant and eliminating adhesion to filler boards. DesCRIPtIon A 125 micron Black Hi Tack Polyethylene construction tape that has excellent conformability to irregular surfaces. The Bond Breaker Tape provides an anti electrolytic barrier between dissimilar metals and has good adhesion to most building materials. It is inserted into a joint to control sealant depth to create a backstop to: • Allow proper sealant curing • Allow proper sealant wetting of the joint surfaces • Insulate underside of sealant • Yield a proper bond breaker between the backer rod and sealant • It can also be used as a temporary joint seal. InstAllAtIon The joint or opening must be clean, dry and free of obstructions. Select the proper rod diameter and cut to length or use directly from spool. With a blunt instrument or roller, uniformly install rod at the level recommended by the sealant manufacturer, specifier or architect involved. Generally, the depth of the joint after the backer rod is installed is one half the width. Very large and very small joints vary in terms of this depth to width ratio. Do not puncture or overly compress. SPEED PLATE™ provides load transfer across construction joints and accommodates lateral and axial movement at inception due to concrete shrinkage and differential slab movement. The patented design reduces the number of dowels typically required with slip dowel systems and similar diamond dowel products, offering many benefits to owners and installers. PRoDuCt ADvAntAges • Ensure proper dowel alignment. • A dowel method recommended by ACI 302-04 Guide for Concrete Floor and Slab Construction. • One piece design with alignment marks and pre-installed nails that makes installation quick and easy. • Integral, patented sleeve insert that eliminates lateral restraint between slab panels. • Non-tapered plate profile ensures consistent bearing stresses at joint face and full depth of dowel. • Larger steel plates (compared to competing plate dowels) provide greater overall surface area to reduce bearing stresses on the concrete. • A system with a uniform plate width to ensure minimal bearing stresses at the joint face and throughout the full embedded length of the dowel. SPEED PLATE reduces the number of dowels required when compared with conventional doweling systems. Fewer dowels and simpler installation means reduced cost of installation. Available in 12mm x 6m to 32mm x 12m lengths in both black and galvanised options for 12, 16, 20, 25 and 32mm bar diameters. No special tools are necessary to tighten these dowel bar components.
