The curl at the bottom was made with modeling clay. I covered the treads and risers with wall- paper that matched that in the photograph. The walls were con- structed with painted matte board. I did try to make doors for the upper level, but I wasn’t happy with them and purchased two premade doors to save time. I did, however, succeed in creating the glass door and win- dows downstairs from real glass. I then placed a digital print of a pool behind them. The ceiling molding was created by tracing the wall profiles, cutting out the wood with a jigsaw, and then routing the decorative molding profile to ensure custom fit. For the curved walls, I used foam core and matt board. The door handles and chandelier were made from beads and links from a necklace. The chandelier was hand- made using wire, lace, and the grain of wheat bulbs. The bottom part of the chandelier is wrapped with string from a window blind to hold the wires together and the glass marble was a lucky find in a store parking lot a few days before I started this project. I purchased the resin statue that is upstairs and glued it onto a marble base. Returning to work on my dollhouse was always in the back of my mind, but was put on hold for many years. Fast-forward to 2014 and I am now the proud Aunt to four creative souls. My old- est nephew developed a fascination with my, almost thirty-year-old, farmhouse when he discovered it in the basement. Each time he visits he hassles me to get to work on it. As his sixth birthday was approaching, I de- cided to purchase him a house of his own. I found a small cot- tage and assembled it for him.
