CRAFTY CATS Make cute Send a feline-themed greetings card for any occasion with one of these quick and easy makes BY JILL MUNDY F or the ginger cat Trace the cat shape in template 1; cut out and stick onto a piece of firm card Cut out the shape and place on your greetings card. Draw around it lightly with a pencil Carefully cut out the shape, remembering to open out your card first so you only cut through the front of the card. Open up the card and, on the inside, glue around the edges of the cat shape (or place a strip of double-sided sticky tape down either side). Cut approx. 1/2 inch (12mm) strips from your fabric and stick in place over the cat ‘window’, overlapping each one. Trim the edges so that all the strips fit neatly inside the edges of your card. Cut a rectangle from thick paper, large enough to cover the ends of the strips of fabric, and glue the paper in place over them, to hide them when the card is opened.
