Hear from Susan about her career… “Two of my four children, Tom and Mark, are working with the company. My brotherTom (retired), has his children John and Allison working here as well. My father, John, started the company in 1972 when he was 50 years old and retired 15 years later. The family continues to operate the company, noting our 50th year in 2022. I have been honored to serve on several boards of local organizations: • Olmsted Medical Center Foundation • Rochester Community and Technical College Foundation 1997-2005 • Rotarian for the past 20+ years • Ronald McDonald House Board of Trustees 2006-2012 • Printing Industry Midwest (PIM) Board I started working full time in 1983, and am still working full-time. I was once told when you retire you need to retire from something to something. In 2011 we printed an auction brochure for an Alpaca farm. We ended up buying 3 alpacas and started looking for a farm. That was going to be my transition to retirement but, it didn’t happen. The herd increased to 13 alpacas but decided to sell them in 2017 as it was becoming quite a chore for my husband. So, I’m still working. My father once told me he never raised a quitter! My work gives me structure and motivation!” 55 The Loupe by Printing Industry Midwest (PIM)
