The Importance Of 3d Printing In Industry 4.0 Industry 4.0 is founded on 3D printing. Before examining the function of additive manufacturing it's first necessary to understand what Industry 4.0 is. Fourth industrial revolution, also known as known as Industry 4.0 is about digitization and automation of manufacturing and related business processes. The characteristics of new technologies have defined the various industrial revolutions that occurred throughout history. These new technologies and their traits alter the industry's production methods at an incredible speed. At the same time they create social and economic changes, profoundly transforming humanity and the way it has developed. The human race has experienced three technological and industrial revolutions between the 19th and twentieth centuries which have brought about progress in all its aspects socially as well as economically. The fourth industrial revolution has profoundly transformed society, industry and economy since 2014. This was possible due to the rapid development of technology and ICT over the last 10 years. Industry 4.0 is the result. Industry 4.0 integrates physical, digital and biological systems into a smart production network in which different elements interact and work together. It also consists of new technologies that permit for flexible, intelligent and autonomous solutions. This transformation is the digital transformation of industry and businesses through the integration of new disruptive technologies: 3d print keychain, IoT cyber-physical systems (CPS) cloud computing, cybersecurity, blockchain, artificial intelligence machine learning, deep learning, and big data. This creates the future industry also known as the Smart Factory. 3D printing is a key component of the manufacturing process 4.0 Industry 4.0's most crucial new technology is 3D printing. The use and implementation of additive manufacturing together with other technology, is producing an improvement in the manufacturing industry towards an intelligent production where machines (autonomous, automatic and intelligent) systems, networks, and machines can communicate with each other and react to the systems of management. Furthermore, as a technology capable of transforming an idea in a 3D concept into a tangible product without human intervention, 3D printing has a fundamental role. Moreover, the need for expensive tools and fixtures are eliminated, reducing post-processing, the use of materials and human intervention. These are some of the traits that define the industry that is to come . Thanks to 3D printing, factories are now able to have the capability to improve their flexibility, adapting to the requirements of a constantly changing and volatile market. In addition, it enables the creation of all kinds of custom-designed objects to be made without the expense of molds and manufacturing tools. 3D printing can also be an excellent friend to the environment. This is a crucial aspect in light of the environmental conditions and the need for sustainable manufacturing processes that require lesser resources and create less waste. According to the Gartner curve 3D printing is incredibly mature. This curve shows the maturity of the technology, its adoption and commercialization of a technology. At the top is 3D printing for medical implants and point of sale 3D printing, and in supply chains. We also observe 3D printing at schools, and in bioprinting for medical research.
The future of additive manufacturing Additive manufacturing holds a promising future. There are many ways to utilize additive manufacturing technologies. This is due to the growing varieties of materials, as well as the extensive research conducted by scientists. With the possibility of continual growth 3D printing is now the preferred method of manufacturing across multiple industries. Additionally the current crisis which is taking place worldwide because of COVID-19 has led to greater progress and the consolidation of 3D printing in response to the increased demand for customized elements in a short time.
