V ILA Carvoeiro tradi onally was once a small fishing ALGARVIA village and in recent years has become an incredibly popular area due to its drama c coastal scenery and world class beaches. Carvoeiro and the surrounding area holds twelve of Portugal’s most beau ful beaches including Marinha Beach, which has been listed as one of the top beaches in the world Restaurants, cafes and bars are abundant in Carvoeiro, with many of the local fisherman supplying freshly caught fish to these establishments. Carvoeiro even hosts one of Portugal’s top restaurants, ‘O’Pa o’ in the town centre and ‘Ocean’, a Michelin starred restaurant, at the nearby five star hotel Vila Vita Parc. Carvoeiro is a historic village and the remains of the walls of the Fort of Senhora da Conceicao, da ng from the seventeenth century, can s ll be found on the cliffs above the village. On the coast, there are boat trips and charters available that can be taken to explore the natural cave forma ons. Dolphins are also frequently seen off the coast of Carvoeiro.
