Admission To get into A&M you must have a one page essay, a $75 fee and a STAR test results. You must submit your entries by July 1- October 15. To get a better chance at getting in you can also submit up to two recommendation letters. And last your SAT scores must be a minimum of 1,280, and you GPA must be 3.69%.
Tuition/Financial Aid A&M offers a wide variety of financial aid like scholarships, grants, and loans. If you attend the school you can go to the Century scholars program to get scholarships.
School Description A&M is a public non-religious school that has a total of 68,679 students. It is co-ed and it is 5,200 acer long with over 200 building on it. They have a ton of traditions like fish camp and howdy camp.
Student Life Luckily A&M is in the middle of College station, so there is a lot to do around it. Most activities like swimming or eating good food is about 10 min away on average. A&M also offers a wide variety of sports for men and women like basketball and swimming. If your a female and like sororities, then A&M has a plethora for you! Some of them include Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi, and Zeta Tau Alpha. Plus if your broke A&M offers a lot of jobs for students like a reachurch intern. They make between $7.25-$17.
History A&M was founded on April 17, 1871. It was founded by the United States Congress after the Morrill Act was passed. This act allowed land to be public so that people who wanted to spread a higher education could. But since this act was passed all of the students were required to go through military training while they were attending A&M. Sadly at the time this only applied to white males, but in 1920 A&M opened its doors to women and African Americans. This school is one of the three-tier 1 Universities in Texas. Last A&M is one of a few campuses to have a presidential library. It is called “George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.”
