Translation of manthras:Prostrations to Rudras who are moving all around and are present everywhere, sothe good are blessed and the sinners cannot escape. NAMAKAM -- ANUVAAKA 9 -- OVERVIEWThis anuvaaka follows through with the praise of Rudra‟s omnipresence -- Hisubiquitousness or presence everywhere at the same time, in every atom ofspace. With this power, Rudra is ever before his devotees, easily available. In beingso, the Lord is comfortable everywhere, and does not choose betweenhabitable and uninhabitable places, between hutments, shelters and thecomfort of beds in homes, between cow pens and homes, between dung andmanure and fresh pollens in flowers, between greenery and parched grass andleaves, and between arable and non-arable land. The Lord pervades evenrocky areas and dense, impenetrable forests. This anuvaaka continues with the praise of the Lord after offering prostrationsto his army and the GaNas, and praising His two forms – the benign andgenerous, and the fierce and punishing. We prostrate before the Lord‟s warrior attendants who shower prosperity andwell-being on the deserving and are dear to the celestial deities. We prostratebefore the Rudras who identify people to be blessed and people to bepunished, and who destroy sins and sinners from all sides. 175
