Reflections April—May 2019
Vradhi Dear Readers, Agarwal From an early age we are challenged by parents , teachers, Class: XI relatives, and sometimes even friends to live up to our potential. Whether we are becoming better educated, professionally more astute, or an improved version of ourselves, we soon find that in the game of progress it is the little things that make a profound difference. Generosity, self-confidence and self-discipline can‟t be ruled out, for they are also essential „little things‟ which matter a lot in our path to progress. Self-confidence is belief in yourself and your abilities. It is not arrogance, but knowing who you are and cherishing that knowledge. Self-confidence involves accurate thinking, controlled attention and self-discipline. Self-discipline aims at removal of appalling habits and the substituting them with good ones, especially those of order , regularity, and obedience. Generosity is the practice of giving things away, not just things you don't care about, but things you do like. Friends, If you ever want to grow, you need to give. Give abundantly. Being generous often consists of simply extending a hand. Remember, we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. To conclude with , we in Delhi Public Schools are taught these life skills so that we reinvent ourselves and illuminate hundreds of other lives ! 1

AN ACTIVITY REPORT OF October – December, 2019
REFLECTIONS Editorial Dear Readers Today’s constantly evolving world demands a robust education system that acts as an essential element for societal progress and change. So far, there has been quite a lot of changes in our educational landscape, moving from hardcore academic-based education system towards practical/creative knowledge acquisition and skill development based system. The immense transformation that the Indian education system has so far witnessed is commendable. The CBSE is taking initiatives to improve standards of education by making the schools happy – zones, anger and stress –free zones, physical and mental well-being zones, moving the campaign of Fit-India, Skill Development and Cleanliness Drive ahead , making the students more aware and responsible towards the society. This gives the children an opportunity to explore their potentials in a positive manner. Also CBSE has shown ingenuity by reforming the curriculum, examination and practical assessments, all taken in the interest of the students , thereby improving the environment of the schools and encouraging the holistic development of the students. The redesigned curriculum allows the young minds to meet the demands of the 21st century. It gives greater priority to skill development in children and developing in them a better insight into concepts and principles, thereby enhancing their ability to apply those learnings to resolving complex real-world problems. We, at DPS, NTPC, Vidyut Nagar, believe that a stronger emphasis on building a cutting-edge curriculum and pedagogy not only improve the academic performance and knowledge acquisition among students but also aids in their holistic development. It is indeed necessary to meet the goals of true education which can only be accomplished when we instill the young intellects with the ability to think cognitively and act confidently. We hope the new education policy will help build a novel education landscape in the country that would focus on the overall learning outcomes and all-round development of children, aiding their transformation into capable innovators and leaders of the 21st-century world. AN ACTIVITY REPORT OF January - March, 2020
Reflections Editorial Dear Readers “We don’t grow when something is easy……..We grow when something is Challenging!!!” The evenings are getting lighter, the blossom is blooming on the trees, and the weather is getting a little warmer. It’s lush. But you can’t relax because EXAMS ARE ON THE HORIZON! Final exams are difficult, stressful, and emotional. The outcome of an exam will not define a person or the intelligence of a person. If a person struggles in one area, it doesn’t mean that he/she is bad/ poor in other areas too. One should identify one’s weaker areas as well as his strengths so that there is scope for improvement and motivation. It is better to, never do tomorrow what one can do today. Procrastination is the thief of time. Consider everything a learning opportunity. Think positively and move forward.Patience and persistence are vital to success. Knuckle down, work hard, and the results will show. Dreams don’t work unless you do! Editor
