She is the coordinator and lecturer for the course leading to the Diploma in Animation at the University of Trinidad and Tobago, she is CEO of Full Circle Animation Studio and Festival Director of Anime Caribe. Camille has worked arduously for these accomplishments. Twelve years ago animation was not even a thought in the minds of many in Trinidad. In those 12 years she was able to get the field of animation recognised and introduced into the education system; UTT now has an animation diploma programme, advertising agencies in Trinidad are using local animators’ work and there are now 12 animation studios in Trinidad and Tobago. She has accomplished those goals but wasn’t hesitant to give students credit for them. For she stated that is their faith in her that made the initiative of introducing animation possible. Thus, she has added as a goal making animation economically viable for these students so they can enter the field of animation as professionals. Camille was also very excited to inform us that there is a new animation film, “Gecko”, that is going to be made and the Gecko team is coming to Trinidad to do the pre- production work. The film deals with Kitchener’s move from the West Indies to post-war Britain. Camille said that the Gecko team coming here means that she has to prepare students to be at their best so they can gain a lot from the opportunity of working with these professionals who have assisted in many animae productions including Lion King and Pocahontas. What are Camille’s plans for the future? She plans to step back from the animation industry in a few years as she says that she is at the stage where, “I have acknowledged that www.animaecaribe.com I have worked very hard and now it’s for others to step in. Part of that stepping back is training animators to teach and help others develop their talent in the field. Also, appointing a board at Anime Caribe that can take the reins and continue to raise the bar, add more success to the industry but also keeping in mind that animation can be used to empower people”. In those 12 years she was able to get the field of animation recognised and introduced into the education system; UTT now has an animation diploma programme, advertising agencies in Trinidad are using local animators’ work and there are now 12 animation studios in Trinidad and Tobago. She has accomplished those goals but wasn’t hesitant to give students credit for them. For she stated that is their faith in her that made the initiative of introducing animation possible. Thus, she has added as a goal making animation economically viable for these students so they can enter the field of animation as professionals. Camille was also very excited to inform us that there is a new animation film, “Gecko”, that is going to be made and the Gecko team is coming to Trinidad to do the pre- production work. The film deals with Kitchener’s move from the West Indies to post-war Britain. Camille said that the Gecko team coming here means that she has to prepare students to be at their best so they can gain a lot from the opportunity of working with these professionals who have assisted in many animae productions including Lion King and Pocahontas. What are Camille’s plans for the future? She plans to step back from the animation industry in a few years as she says that she is at the stage where, “I have acknowledged that www.animaecaribe.com I have worked very hard and now it’s for others to step in. Part of that stepping back is training animators to teach and help others develop their talent in the field. Also, appointing a board at Anime Caribe that can take the reins and continue to raise the bar, add more success to the industry but also keeping in mind that animation can be used to empower people”. Camille’s OMG moment was when her daughter came Lighting to realise why she couldn’t reach her in the months of September and October. When her daughter returned from Ronaldo Roberts studying abroad and delved into the field of animation she observed her mother’s hectic lifestyle first hand and thus Photographer understood and appreciated what she had been doing. Camille said she felt good as her daughter’s understanding Stephen Doobal confirmed that she was doing something right.
