NEWARK TOWNPAGE 12 | ACADEMY MATCHDAY PROGRAMME Newark FC was originally formed introduction of the East Midlands Counties in 1868 playing in the Midland League and the consequent restructuring League. Changing its name to of the CMFL saw “the Blues” elevated to Newark Town in 1924, the club folded the Supreme Division in 2008. The club on the outbreak of World War II in 1939 finished fifth in the first two campaigns after which Ransome & Marles became and beat Louth Town to win the League the town’s premier team.
