NEWARK TOWNPAGE 12 | ACADEMY MATCHDAY PROGRAMME Newark FC was originally formed introduction of the East Midlands Counties in 1868 playing in the Midland League and the consequent restructuring League. Changing its name to of the CMFL saw “the Blues” elevated to Newark Town in 1924, the club folded the Supreme Division in 2008. The club on the outbreak of World War II in 1939 finished fifth in the first two campaigns after which Ransome & Marles became and beat Louth Town to win the League the town’s premier team. An attempt was Challenge Cup in 2009/10, a match made to resurrect the club in the 1970’s described by Frank Harwood as the best but after initial success the club once again went into limbo. The club reformed in the 80’s entering a side in the Notts Imperial Youth League. A senior side was formed in 1994 with teams entering the MRA and the Grantham League. 1997 saw the club enter the Notts Football Alliance. After securing the Division One Championship in 2003/4 the club joined the CMFL cup final he had ever seen. The following entering the FA’s League Pyramid season proved difficult but the club still system. Damon left to take the assistant manager’s job at Frickley Athletic leaving Luke to carry on the good work. season 2018/19 saw the club undefeated in 24 league matches, before that season and the following season was cancelled out by Covid19. Season 2021/21 saw the arrival of Nathan Arnold as first team Manager, and the team were CMFL North Champions, and gained promotion to Step 6.
