Douglas Kanja Kirocho (center) is the new Deputy Inspector-General of the Kenya Police Service. In the same changes, the Director in-charge of Investigations at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Eliud Kipkoech Lagat will now be the new Commandant GSU. Mr Kirocho was the Commandant, GSU. He has taken over from Mr Edward Mbugua who has since retired from the service since last month. In a Gazette Notice issued on Wednesday, President William Ruto also appointed Bruno Shioso as the Director-General of the Kenya Coast Guard Service. He will serve the Maritime Force for four years. Meanwhile, Gideon Munga Nyale who has been serving as the Director of Operations at the Police Service has been elevated to the Commandant, Kiganjo Police Training Institute. The changes also saw Ranson Lolmodoni appointed as the Director of Operations at the Police Service. UNICEF’s critical role in Children globally The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) continues to en- sure that children grow up in a secure and inclusive environ- ment. This was disclosed by President William Ruto when he met the UNICEF Regional Direc- tor for Eastern and Southern Afri- ca Mohamed Malik Fall at State House Nairobi yesterday. Kenya undertakes to continue working with UNICEF to scale up the protection and provision of various support programmes for children, including school feeding for arid areas.
