Milford Haven Amateur Operatic Society Performance of 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' Wanderer’s Rest Darts Well done to Dai Vale of The Folly for playing a 19 dart leg I was part of the chorus for this show which took place at the Torch recently against Saundersfoot Social and Sport‘s Club—501 Theatre in Milford Haven over 6 nights, 28 March - 2 April. This was to winning with 19 darts. my first show with the society (indeed my first time doing anything of this nature) and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the experience, Thanks to Tony and Margaret Brinsden of Norton Lodge both on stage and behind the scenes for that matter. who again collected for the Royal British Legion around Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, the stage version, is very entertaining with some terrific songs Llanteg last November and raised the enormous sum of and there were many scene and costume changes which involved a lot of rehearsals £422.63 - well done both, a great figure in these hard times. throughout the winter months under the very capable guidance of our Stage Director and Producer, Sarah Middleton and Musical Director, Marian Harris. The principal actors of the MHAOP are in a league of their own. Naomi Harrison who played Lorelei Lee is just 19 but has already developed a mature stage presence. Unforgettable was her arrival in the Paris nightclub in a shimmering silver dress and, as she descended rather perilously steep stairs, everyone on stage froze during her rendering of \"Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend\" to great effect. Another of my favourite characters was Sir Francis Beekman (aka \"Piggy\") played by Edward Smith who has great comic talent. He and Lorelei performed a hilarious version of \"It's Delightful Down in Chile\" with some of the younger members of the cast providing some exotic dancing in the background. Naomi's youthful and multi-talented mother, Terri Harrison, played Lorelei's companion, Dorothy. However I must not understate the abilities and experience of many of the chorus members whom I enjoyed working with and learnt a lot from. Rehearsals will start again this autumn for next year's show (new members are always welcome incidentally) and I will let you know what that will be later in the year. Jane Baron
