The Oxford Finance Academy Course Registration GuideThe Oxford Finance Academy Community Page on oxPort is your primary resource forinformation about learning and provides a window into all learning opportunities andresources available to you. Once you have navigated this resource, and selected thecourse you’d like to take, you will register for it using the ‘My Learning ‘system.This registration guide has been created to give you a step-by-step guide to registeringfor classroom and e-Learn courses.Access My Learning: 1. Go to oxPort on Internet Explorer and click on My Team. 2. Click on the tool icon beside your profile picture then click on My Learning. Page | 67
Register for a Course:Once you are in My Learning, you can use the following functions to register forcourses: 1- Learning and Development Calendar: register for classroom courses through the OMERS Learning and Development Calendar 2- Browse Catalogue: register for classroom courses and/or e-Learns through locating your desired course in the catalogue by subject areaLearning and Development Calendar (Classroom Course Registration): 1. Click Learning and Development Calendar (under the 4th orange button in My Learning) to open the OMERS Learning and Development Calendar Page | 68
2. Once the Calendar is opened, scroll through the months and locate the course you’re interested in taking. Note that The Oxford Finance Academy courses are coloured in grey. 2. Search for a specific course by subject area within The Oxford Finance Academy section of the screen.3. Scroll through the list of available courses. When you’ve found the course or e- Learn you’re interested in taking, click Search Available Offerings. Don’t forget to check in the upper right hand corner for the next button so you can see all of the available courses. Note: If Search Available Offerings is black, the course is not yet available. Keep an eye out for courses as they continue to be made available throughout the year! Page | 72
4. E-Learn: If you’ve clicked Search Available Offerings on an e-Learn you will be directed to Launch Content to view it immediately. If you register and wish to take it at a later date you will find the e-Learn saved under your Current Learning which is located under your profile picture in My Learning on the right hand side. Note: A pop up window will appear at the bottom of your screen. Click Options For This Site and then click Always Allow. You may be directed back to the Home Screen the first time that you go through this process. If this happens, go to Current Learning to launch your e-Learn. Page | 73
Classroom Course: If you clicked Search Available Offerings on a classroomcourse you will be directed to dates the course is offered for in-person training.Find the date that best suits your schedule and click register.Note: You can only register for one offering (date) for a course. Frequently Asked QuestionsWhere can I find courses I’m registered in or courses I’ve completed? You can see courses you’re registered in under Current Learning on the left hand side of the screen under your profile picture. Courses you’ve completed will be under Completed Learning.What happens if I register for an e-Learn and I can’t take it right away? You can find courses you’re registered for both classroom and e-Learn under Current Learning. The classroom courses and e-Learns will be there until you complete them at which point they will move to your Completed Learning.How do I track my CPD credits? All courses with CPD credits are verified learning. CPD credits are noted in every Oxford Finance Academy course description. See the CPA Requirements folder on The Oxford Finance Academy Community page for a sheet to help you track your credits. Page | 77
How will any changes to a classroom offering be communicated? Once you’ve registered for a course, you will receive an outlook invite with details for that course. If there are any changes to date, time or location of the course, they will be communicated through updates to the outlook invite.How can I drop a course? Go to Current Learning under your profile picture; find the course you want to drop. 1) Hover your mouse over the button that says More Actions then click on Drop. Page | 78
2) Click Drop at the bottom of the screen.3) You will be asked in input a reason for dropping the course.
