The final design of the front cover For my final front cover I went for the forest with the cave as it fitted with the theme I wanted to go with, as like I said when I created the first sketch up it foreshadow the scene to come. I also like that it shows you the vast surrounding of the forest around them, plus also shows Katniss helping Peeta near the cave so the she could take care of Peeta due to his badly injured leg. I also liked how I made the title look like it floating on smoke, but also it could look the the smoke/steam is coming from the logo. I also really like how I rendered the moss and grass but also the cave as i feel that I have made the cave look 3D with definition to the rocks.

Spider diagram for this is graphic novel pages the scene of key events in the i picked. book I wanted to pick a scene that would draw the readers into reading the graphic novel. I also wanted to try and narrow it down to one key scene, but before that I had cut it down to three key scenes and then down to one. The one that I think I am going to do is the scene with Cato holding Peeta hostage, when Katniss has to choose what to do save Peeta or let Cato kill Peeta and what happens in the end of that scene.

The sketches of my two key pages. For my two pages of the graphic novel, I picked to do the scene where Cato is holding Peeta hostage and Katniss has to choose what to do save Peeta or let Cato kill Peeta. The second page is to do with the aftermath of what happen and Katniss is making sure Peeta okay. Both are not the whole scene, due to the size of the full chapter but I have chosen to show the two main parts. I wanted to map out what both page swould look like, before I fully outlined and coloured them. This is also how I made sure that the scene flows smoothly.

What it looks like in the final design Here is the final look of the graphic novels pages. The pages follow the book (with some changes) because of how much space I Had and because I would be able to display it word for word but was able to pick the key element of this key scene. The mood for these page are quite dark in both way from the lighting as it set at night and in the feeling as the scene does have a lot of blood and some hint of gore because of Peeta’s leg due to the the scene before these two. I really like how the last scene of my graphic novel page is the face of Peeta . I had taken this from thes line which has a description of what Peeta’s face look like at the moment of time the line states “Peeta’s face is grey in the moonlight” this because I didn’t want to finish the page with the start of some new. The pages I went for didn’t have any dialogue apart from some of the sounds that would be heard and some of the action, like Cato screaming and the mutt attacking Cato and some of the tiny actions, like Peeta hitting Cato with his elbow. I also made sure to show write key motion this when Katniss catches Peeta I show ‘grab’ which is to show motion another is the motion that peeta does when Katniss looks at Peeta’s leg which is something that I added to give the panel some more motion and this is the only bit that I took from my imagination, but the rest is hundred 100% from the book. With the background I made sure that it is sure that I made as accurate a cloud with the description shown in the book. Especially the connapopia as in the movie. They made the connapoia silver and I didn’t really make it look like what a connaopia should look like. In the book it is described as a “giant golden horn”. which is what the cornucopia in my graphic novel to after when it can to making the surfaces that the 3 tribute were standing on.
