From the director's desk 1 - Mr Vivek Vemuru True education lies in the refurbishing of the moral and cultural roots in the individual than mere knowledge being taught through the words of a teacher within the contents of a plethora of written material available to the student today. The admirable and most important attributes of love, compassion, honesty and commitment which provide sustenance to man need to be imbibed early in life so that the individual is empowered to deal with the demands and challenges thrown at him at every juncture in life. We are committed to adopt these as our priorities and lead the way, inculcating in the bargain all essential qualities, continuously moving towards our goals, endeavouring to equip our students with the necessary tools to deal with the challenges at every step and turn.

From the director's desk 2 - Mr Prashanth Vemuru I extend my warm felicitations to on bringing forth the issue of the Magazine' \"Midas\" The magazine not only mirrors the strides made by ABM and reflect its progress in all spheres of activity, it also affords our staff and students a platform for creative expression and enables them to display their varied talents and ideas. Our College will continue to move ahead by leaps and bounds. This has been possible only because of the dedication, devotion and sustained hard work of the staff and the students of Absolute Minds. I am certain that all staff members will continue to put in their best to ensure that Absolute Minds becomes an institution 'Par Excellence and continue to fulfil the educational aspirations of our students and their parents .I complement all members of the Absolute Minds fraternity and wish each one of them all the very best in their endeavors.

From the CEO's desk 3 - Mr Dileep Kumar A college magazine is an eloquent expression of the progress and outstanding achievements that a college has to its credit. My heart brims with great joy and happiness on seeing that Absolute Minds has released the college magazine entitled \"Midas\" . I congratulate the team of students and the faculty for tireless efforts that have come to fruition in the form of this magazine .I wish it all success and hope that this tradition that has been set by the current students will be carried through by the following generation of students to come.

The Chief Editor Speaks ...... 4 - Vanita Rao Welcome to this issue of \"MIDAS\" , an earnest endeavour towards tapping the hidden potential dormant in each and every child of our college . Penning down seemingly scattered thoughts, improvising and finally allowing the idea to germinate into a readable article is what is encouraged at Absolute Minds. Midway through editing and designing a pile of articles which I was nose deep in and with the thoughts of the zillion things that 'just had to be done', I pulled at my hair for the very first time . It was a roller coaster ride with many ups and downs, but at the end of the day all is well that ends well. As you pore over the pages of this magazine, you will be instantly caught up in our children's world of literary creativity and can't help but marvel at their ingenuity in presenting before you a plethora of sensitive articles which will definitely pull at your heartstrings. We have tried our best to capture your moments and paint your memories with the bitter - sweet ink of nostalgia.

The Student Editors speak ..... 5 - Raghni & Veda In an otherwise seemingly mundane life, the idea of a school magazine brought newfound enthusiasm and excitement. Our initial discussions and ideas wouldn’t have formed shape without you, our readers. It is our absolute pleasure to thank each and every one of you for your support and patronage. To Vanita ma’am our lighthouse and Dileep sir a constant pillar of support, thank you for pushing us to do better. To all the teachers and non-academic staff, thank you for being so understanding. We aspire to continue the magazine and expand its reach to achieve its vision of being a true representative student publication. Going forward, we look to scale new heights and broaden our horizons further by challenging epistemic boundaries. Boundaries are, after all, just boundaries, meant to be crossed. And cross we will, together and wiser.

Legend of the Kingdom 17 - Risa.M ( XI MEC) When I was 15 , I started to notice things which I failed to notice when I was younger. The blue moon is going to shine its moonlight upon us soon.I've heard some of the servants mutter, they wouldn't stop talking about it. As the curiosity inside peaked, I decided to ask her majesty myself. She always made sure I wouldn't hear a single gossip from the \"lady in waiting\". But she promised to tell me once I'm 15 and I think I'm ready. I just hope the curiosity does not kill the cat. As I entered my mother's chamber, could see her laying there, in her silk . She looks graceful even in the brink of her death. She noticed my presence and called for me with a slight smile on her face. She told me ,\" I knew you would come my child, it's time you know about the legend behind the blue moon .\"I just got more curious and asked her to continue. She narrated,\" Our ancestor, Sir William the first, was a man who possessed a strange power.\"He could control his shadow.\" It was unbelievable for me.

But I continued to listen. She asked me, \"have you ever wondered if your shadow is watching you ?\"No one will stay with you till the end, except your 18 shadow. \" Caused by blocking of light in its darkness evil is always present,\"Humans made sure that they have control over their shadows.\" \" But your ancestor angered the moon.\" So the moon cursed him and his descendants that they won't be able to control their shadow.\" .Sir William was a strong man\", hence,he was able to control his shadow, but that shadow has a mind of its own ,\"Once the blue moon passes after your 15th birthday, which is in three weeks, you will experience it too.\"I didn't know what to say, was all of this true ? I know that her majesty would never lie, so I have to be prepared. I thanked my mother and retired for the night. Unfortunately, her majesty passed away a week ago which means I have to face the blue moon alone. In three days, my life will change. How will I be able to control my shadow ? Will it always be watching me, even in my sleep ? Will it revolt ? Will it be my friend ? Or my ally ?

19 The Lame Legend - Deekshitha ( Grade 11 BIPC E2) Curiosity, my only quality a s a kid always forced me to ask the silliest questions. Once, when I visited my grandparents in the village,I heard about something that horrified me. All my cousins being locals narrated fictitious stories of a giant figure lying right in the backyard- A Banyan Tree. \" Ghosts swinging to the roots of the tree\" said one. \" you should never leave your hair untied or you'll be haunted for the rest of your life,\" said the other. Being a mature teeNager now, I know these sound absurd. But there was one point of time when I believed in them. I was so petrified that I stopped sneaking into the kitchen to steal my favourite snack just because the window there always showed the eerie banyan tree.

20 This fear in me lasted for so long that one day I had to explode. I told my grandparents about all the things stuffed in my head. For a moment, all of them were silent and the very next moment they burst out laughing so hard and the reason ,I didn't know back then. This was long ago, probably a decade. Now I know, think why everybody found me silly and laughed. All these stories passed on from generations were never true ! We are told not to go under the Banyan trees only because of the high amount of toxic carbon dioxide it releases. And the ghosts swinging is the wind swaying. What a fool I was to believe in such legends. But then, these are the memories that make me smile out of nostalgia every time I go down memory lane. As for the Banyan tree -it still stands there, old strong, gigantic and eerie. It's me who grew up to love the tree now.

We all know the traditional tale of the 21 Rabbit and the tortoise, Rabbit and tortoise decide on a race and the tortoise wins as the rabbit The future tale of the was overconfident and decides to rest. MORAL: Your talent and hardwork is what you need to make it happen.

22 Now as the tortoise lost the race ,it suggests that the participating people ,must cross a river to finish it and as the rabbit cannot swim, tortoise wins the race. MORAL - Smart work over Hardwork . The Rabbit just couldn't give up, so now it suggests that they do a jumping race and now as the tortoise can't jump, Rabbit wins the race. Moral - Sometimes all you need is to be yourself to be able to make it . Taking you through all these different scenes and situations meant only one thing, just to make you understand that every person and every scene is different in people's lives and what matters is the way you choose to, ultimately win it.

Patience 23 -Varshitha Reddy (XII PCB) If there's something within you that can In my opinion, passion is a trait that makes you a channelize the power to realize the person that the world wants, the society wants purpose of your life, it's undoubtedly passion. Passion gives birth to your and that your own soul wants. Fortunate are those reality. It's not always the question of beings whose passion becomes a driving force where you'll reach but also the question towards the path of triumph. Passionate people of what made you strive for reaching make their ways easier to succeed because it's their your destination. passion towards their aspirations that keeps them While I find people listing out the enthusiastic to discover their abilities in all aspects. reasons for their achievements which What about those who are'nt passionate? Are absolutely include: Hardwork, patience, they considered as a liability? What drives them determination, endurance, perseverance, towards success if it were not passion? There are dedication, commitment and a lot more, people who might have made their paths harder by I've been trying to figure out the reasons neglecting their passion which is unknown to them for the above mentioned reasons. None yet they end up fulfilling their purpose of life. They on this earth is a fool to take life for experience life that's completely devoid of passion granted and none can outsmart the but still continue to not give up on circumstances. absolute truth of existence. What do these people work for if they are deprived of ambitions and goals? Questions arise when answers are uncertain, likewise realization arises when experiences are uncertain.
