DUNES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL ACADEMIC SESSION 2019-2020 Volume 6 Issue 3 Sneak Peek Glimpse of the week 17th to 21st November 2019 Reminders  USST, Computer Science and Moral Educa- tion Periodic Test and USST weekly test will be conducted next week.  Students should wear Id card everyday and come in a neat and complete uniform, with a proper hair and nail trim. Water is the most precious gift of nature. It is an essential component of life and is vital for suste- nance. Without water nothing can live, thus water conservation has become a need of the hour. So, we should all stand together to conserve water to save life. With these poignant lines the students enacted a play on Water Conservation to motivate audience to join the mission of saving water. This helped students to come forward and showcase their skills, boost their confidence towards public speaking and imbibe a feeling of team spirit in their nascent minds. The students worked together as a team and presented a mélange of thoughts, ideas and expressions.

“The Jamboree 2- A Grand carnival” Carnival is important in developing children's confidence as learners. Taking risks and trying out new ways of doing things is central to the carnival experience. It has been demonstrated that creative and cultural education can help raise educational standards. Dunes International school organized a carnival “Jamboree 2- A Grand carni- val“ in the school campus on 14th November 2019. The program was filled with game stall, exotic food stalls to tempt your palate, henna designing , face painting to add a dash to the colours, bouncing castle, classic perfor- mance , raffle draws and so on. The program was not on- ly filled with fun but helped students polishing their ide- as, innovation and venturing skills.

Water Colour Painting There are an abundance of watercolour techniques need to master to become profi- cient at the art form. Watercolour is a tricky medium, but when handled right it can be a versatile and flexible painting tech- nique that is certainly worth pursuing. Also known as aquarelle, it dates back thousands of years Grade 4 children made of pigments sus- pended in a water-soluble vehicle. When children created a painting in watercolours, light reflects off the white of the paper and bounces up through the colours, giving it a luminosity which looked like truly magical.

The usual insoluble impurities are sand, clay, and organic matter. They came to know that Insoluble suspended matter can be removed by allowing the water to stand and drawing off the clear portions from the sediment, or by filtration. Stu- dents of grade 4 demonstrated the purification method through the experiment. They learned that Solids which dissolve in water are called soluble solids· Solids which don’t dissolve in water are called insoluble solids. If the particles of insoluble solids settle down in water, they can be separated by decantation. The mixture in which the solid particles remain suspended can be separated by filtration. Students were able to explain the different purification methods.

“Dance is the hidden language of the Soul” In today’s competitive world it is very necessary to develop all the aspects of personality to stand with the competi- tion. So, at the very young age, the students were given a platform to explore their talents, express their feelings with confi- dence and remove the stage fear through the dance competition held on Tuesday. The participants gave an energetic and awesome performance which made the competition tough. The dancers rocked the stage.
