‘A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievements ‘. Dunes International School is extremely proud to felici- tate the winners of the Ken-Ken exam conducted in the aca- demic year 2018-2019, who put in sincere efforts to achieve their set target with complete dedication and persistence . Shivani Mohan of grade 3C secured gold medal and Bhavya Mani- gandan of grade 4C. high –achiever with silver medal were honored in the special assembly. Students who secured silver and bronze medals were also felicitated on the occasion. Excite- ment and applause were at an all-time high for the students cheering and supporting the inspiring geniuses on stage. The winning students were awarded with medals and certificates by our Head Primary– Madam Manjeet to encourage and further motivate them. Special mention for Samiya Suresh who secured second place in light music .

An awareness of the deadly spreading epidemic of ‘Coronavirus’ was conducted on 4th of February 2020 by Dr. Sajeev Nair, a prominent physician at LLH hospital. The session threw light on the different aspects from the intial symptoms, origin, curing steps to the essential pre- cautionary measures to be taken leading to the spread of this virulent disease. Students were made aware of the precautionary measures to prevent from being affected and how to keep themselves clean especially when they come in contact with others. The session was informative and students were given opportunity to clear their doubts. A short Power point Presentation was displayed in every class which highlighted the importance of personal hygiene as a measure to prevent the spread of the epidemic.

The main problem faced by the students in mastering the language is the failure to master the vocab- ulary of the Arabic language as well as motivation factor and a negative perception toward learning Arabic. To produce good writing, precise vocabulary selection is vital in the delivery of a clear mean- ing. Moreover, the use of the five affective senses through activities outside the classroom which are relaxed, structured, and fun can have a positive impact on the improvement of language acquisition . Inorder to improve to improve the vocabulary of students , they did an activity in which students are asked to write sentences using the spell words and drew pictures of these sentences.

HINDI ACTIVITY HOW SUN IS HELPFUL TO US Without the Sun's heat and light, the Earth would be a lifeless ball of ice-coated rock. The Sun warms our seas, stirs our atmos- phere, generates our weather patterns, and gives energy to the growing green plants that provide the food and oxygen for life on Earth. Students expressed their views, opinion, thoughts about the importance of the sun. With the help of mind map, they came to know how the sun plays important role in our life.

Discussion can be an effective way for students to engage with core concepts, apply them and to enhance their problem-solving skills. It promotes teamwork, elicits higher order think- ing, and is especially applicable when a subject is complex or open-ended. Communication skills of students develop as they express themselves, state their ideas in a clear manner, and listen to the views of others. Students of grade 3 generate their own ideas, related to differ- ent types of pollution ,its causes and its preventive measures. Also, they draws out multiple explanations, enabling them to ask questions they may not have asked if they were working individually and deepens their understanding.

The introduction of fractions is one of a student’s first experience with a math concept beyond the basic skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It is important that a child feels comfortable and confident in his understanding of fractions because it is a building block for math skills and because a successful experience in his ability to learn. The students were given different objects to find the fractions in them. They worked to- gether to divide whole objects into equal parts and to identify those parts as fractions and record them in a creative manner. This task was given to the students in order to re- inforce and understand the concept of fractions through models. Also, they can use their knowledge of fractions to solve real-life situations.

Social Dig up the facts- Activity Archaeology is tons of dirt-digging, mystery- solving fun. Archaeology is learning about an- cient people, how they lived, what they looked like, what tools they used, and more. Archaeologists are the scientists who study the remains of past groups of people. They do that by looking at the things people from long ago left behind. Over time, things and places get covered and buried. When something lays on the ground day after day, year after year, leaves fall on it, dust blows, and little by little it slowly gets covered up. Archaeologists dig under the ground in specific ways to find what people of the past have left behind. This is called excavation. Grade3 students enjoyed the lesson Early Human by doing dig up the fact's activity. You can become an archaeolo- gist in this fun activity!

ENGLISH Mind Map Sentence Structure is important because it provide us with the framework for the clear written expression of our ideas. The aim in writing is always to write in complete sentences which are correctly punctuated. Sentences always begin with a capital letter and end in either a full stop, exclamation or question mark. The students learnt how sentences are formed with the help of phrases and drew the mind map of the various ele- ments required to form phrases or sen- tences.
