New York, have I told you..? a poem of gratitude and joy -Aparna Krishnan Reshmy
I may just be adding to the myriad of street-loving, food-enjoying, day-dreaming, money-saving student artists who consider New York to be their sole reason of growth and existance, but it’s not un true.
But New York, you are what I am grateful for. I wake up to give you my life and you in turn give me yours. Every fleeting moment whispers me a signal to believe in myself.
Every cross road and every stranger I pass by have a story and they simultaneously speak for themselves and remain silent. Seeking these stories or rather, imagining what they could possibly be keep me entertained more than anything. And to think, I am adding to these stories, I am grateful even more.
The noises and scents of New York are so unique to the city that it feels like an immersive experience. My friends and lovers help me ele- vate this experience, but New York, you give me the most space to feel what I must and musn’t but should.
New York, you are my love, my home and my energy.
