Two cats and a monkey Illustrated by Praveen Ghalay
Once upon a time, there lived two cats who were best friends.
One day while they were going in search of food, they found a piece of bread.
Both of them looked at each other, and one said, “Let’s divide it into equal parts.” The other agreed as well.
But they could not divide it into equal parts and started fighting.
While they were fighting for the bread, one monkey saw them and came towards them.
He told the cats that he would help them divide it.
Firstly, he divided the bread into two pieces.
The monkey made one part big and the other small.
The cats were not happy with the monkey.
Then the monkey told them that he would make it into equal sizes.
He then started dividing the bread into more pieces.
For that, he ate some part from the bigger one.
He went on eating, telling the cats that he needed to make it into equal size.
At last, the whole bread was eaten by the monkey. The two cats regretted fighting within themselves before the monkey arrived.
Moral: Greediness leads to lose.
