A Message from the ChairmanWelcome to Wetherby Musical Theatre Group’s production of “TheFull Monty”, here at Wetherby High School. It gives me great pleasure to introduce Jonty Wilson andRichard Goodall as Co-Directors and welcome back Nick Eastwood asMusical Director. As you can imagine, it has been no mean feat persuading sixstrapping chaps to bare all on stage … so we’ve ended up with thisgroup instead. Seriously though, we welcome some new members(pardon the pun) to our company and a few recognisable faces.Wetherby Musical Theatre Group has been entertaining the localcommunity for over 35 years, always trying to move with the times, and this new production certainly upholds the tradition. We are continuing to flourish as a group and are always looking fornew members. Therefore if you, or anyone you know, would beinterested in taking part in future productions—as a performingmember, part of the band or off-stage—simply drop in on a Tuesdaynight to Deighton Gates Primary School. We break for tea at 8:45pmso come and join us for a cuppa and stay and see what we get up to.Finally, I thank all those who have contributed in ways great andsmall in bringing this production to the stage—the cast, direction, musicians, production team, front of house, backstage, rehearsalteam and particularly you, the audience, family and friends who letus indulge ourselves and hopefully entertain.Enjoy the show!

Seeing how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers duringtheir \"Girls' Night Out,\" six unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, NewYork come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In theprocess they find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendshipand the ability to have fun.As the guys work through their fears, self-consciousness, feelings ofworthlessness and anxieties (over everything from being overweightto child custody, bigotry to being gay), they come to discover that notonly are they stronger as a group, but that the strength they find ineach other gives them the individual courage to face their demonsand overcome them. There is great heart to THE FULL MONTY, and the ultimate themesexpressed in the show, about taking charge of one's life and followingone's dreams, are great lessons for all of us.

Richard Goodall Director After joining WMTG in 1989 as a performer, taking on many leading and supporting roles, it’s still great to be involved after 25 years; especially co-directing my second show! The Full Monty has been a very challenging production to get on to the stage. There have been many highs and lows through the rehearsal period with casting and rehearsal schedules, I am so pleased we persevered;WMTG’s loyal and hardworking members have made sure we are here and ready to go.Thank you.All it leaves me to say is sit back, relax and feel free to show your appreciation for theseguys as the roller coaster story unfolds. All we ask is that you remember it is “February Weather” and “very cold”… if you getmy drift!Nick EastwoodMusical DirectorI am thrilled to take part in my second show for WMTG,This season has been a long and rewarding process, andI often wonder what I have done to deserve it.The orchestra behind WMTG's unique sound thisevening is made up from local musicians/teachers,(phone numbers available on request!), and together weform one of the finest bands of the day....of course whenevening falls anything can happen. If there's anybody at the back of our audience who can't hear properly, there's a coachparty of music lovers in the front row who, I understand, are willing to swap places. No, really; enjoy the show - and don't blink, you might miss a little something.

Jonty Wilson Director It is with great pleasure that I have been given the opportunity to co-direct this fantastic show with Richard for WMTG. After playing the character Malcolm twice already, I thought enough of Yorkshire had seen me stripping and it was time for other men to enjoy? the experience. After performing with Richard in many shows over the years in Leeds and Wetherby, we have decided to exit stage left and come out front to produce what we hope you will agree is a fabulous and entertaining piece of musical theatre. I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of the cast members, back stage teams and those with any link to this show that have given their time and effort towards it. So ladies and gentlemen, they may not be Chippendales, they may be normal looking, but please give them as much encouragement as you can, as tonight, these men will be going The Full Monty!! Enid Doyle Choreographer I first joined WMTG in the summer of 1989 as they were preparing to perform A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum for the Wetherby Arts Festival as it was then known . My background of sewing was quickly put to use and I assisted with costumes . From that time I have had the great pleasure to direct, choreograph and costume many of WMTGs shows. Inow try to limit myself to the wardrobe department but when I was asked tochoreograph The Full Monty --- well how could I resist !!So sit back and wait for the guys to \"reveal \" what they have been up to in rehearsals!!

About OrchidWe exist to save men's lives fromtesticular, prostate and penilecancers. Set up in 1996 by atesticular cancer patient and theoncologist who saved his life, Orchid is the only UK charity working for men affected bythe three uniquely male cancers.Every year over 43,000 men in the UK will be diagnosed with a male specific cancerand sadly these numbers are increasing. 40,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer Over 2,200 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer A further 500 men are diagnosed with the much rarer penile cancerWe have three main priorities in the fight against male cancer:1. Research - We fund a pioneering, world-class research programme to understand the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of male cancers. We have identified new ways to treat male cancers whilst improving the quality of life for those diagnosed but we need to do even more to fight this dreadful disease.2. Support - We offer support to men and their families and provide information. Men often find it hard to talk and seek advice and our specialist nurses answer questions and offer vital support. We provide free printed and downloadable information and an award winning DVD.3. Awareness - We raise vital awareness of male cancers and aim to educate men about the signs and symptoms of male cancer. Every man should get to grips with self-checks. Far too often men put off seeking help if they notice anything unusual. Early diagnosis saves lives.Recognising the warning signs and symptoms of these cancers, receiving an earlydiagnosis and treatment, and being well informed and supported can make a realdifference.Your support matters in the fight against male cancer - Thank you! £5 could supply 50 public awareness leaflets for hospitals, clinics, GP surgeries and health centres – increasing awareness, which is proven to save lives. £25 could provide a school with our award-winning DVD resource pack ‘Know Your Balls Check ‘Em Out!’ including leaflets, posters and teacher’s guide. £50 pays for an anatomical prostate model for awareness talks and presentations. £100 pays for an Orchid Male Cancer Information Nurse to deliver male cancer awareness talks and information to a company and their employees. £1,000 pays for two month’s supply of microscope slides, covers and storage boxes for histopathology research (examination of cancer tissue). £2,500 could buy 10 vials of antibody for the Histopathology research team, to identify proteins in prostate tumour tissue samples, helping to give successful treatment to the patients.
