The Kid Who's Life is Education Made by: John Michael Porte Marcus Ancheta Lucky Fernandez Marc Mercado 8-Fleming
Florensense was a kid from a poor area of the city. Floresense grew up in a not so ideal area in Pangasinan in the Philippines. His parents were spending all their energy and time in order to put shelter on top of their heads and food in their table, especially the education for their children. Florensense has a younger brother and sister, so as the oldest of the three he has a big role to fill in the future of their family. Florensense even as a 13-year-old has so much pressure in his hands. His family is struggling heavily and the future of his siblings is in the edge of a cliff, but for a lot of people they would be scared and is terrified but not Florensense. Where people see a disappointing situation, he sees an opportunity. He is full of hop and optimism and has one of the best work ethic that people can’t compare to. It feels like Florensense can’t ever be defeated by his own weaknesses not even one single time. When it comes to education, he treats it like it is his life as he knows that if he does well, he can potentially get his family out of this bad situation. But unfortunately for him, the school he goes to does not do him any favors.
The school he goes to can be described as unbearable; lots of delinquent students, very lenient and not so good at teaching teachers, a bad school building, and a very rough environment are some of the biggest problems when it comes to his education. But on the bright side he has friends that could brighten up and help his journey to getting a good future. Isco and Alfreddy has been a huge help in his life in general. Their overall positivity and bright personality really brightens up the mood of what is otherwise a very gloomy and depressing environment. They would always go together wherever and whenever they want to. This is a good sense of motivation for Florensense to succeed even more. But his friends can distract him for so long, there will always come a time where Florensense has to drop down into the reality he has lived through. His school was proving to be difficult and a hinderance and instead of giving him things to learn, it is anything but that. When Florensense would like to ask a question the reply he would regularly get is “You should start cleaning your ears and start listening” and “If you pay attention in class you wouldn’t be asking these questions.” and would end up just getting criticism instead of help.
Some of the students in his school calls him out for being one of the poorest families in school. They call him names and they just push him around like he is nothing compared to any of them. But this didn’t stop Florensense from giving up nor putting his confidence down, its actually the opposite, he started working and working and pushing to the limit he can possibly get to and this all have paid off in the end. As at the end of the school year he has made it to the honor rolls for not only this year but also in future years even up to college where because he managed to have good grades and scores in his high school, he ended up going to Stanford University in the US and is one of the top students of the nation. Now he is living his life as an aerospace engineer and also a husband and father of two kids. He also supports local charity funds in the hopes of helping other kids that is struggling and going through things he himself went through. Along with his parents and siblings, he has managed to get them out of the bad situation they all grew up in and is now living a way better life that they could ever ask for. He has also kept in touch with his best friends after all these years, and they regularly talk to each other until this day. If you were to look at his childhood growing up you would think it would be impossible to get close to the life as Florensense can. But with the right mindset, commitment, and education, your ceiling would be endless and the sky is the limit.
Education is one of the most important things in life as they are our stepping stones before being thrown into the real world. Education is not accesible to everyone around the world so if you are the privalaged to go to a good education, then don't take it for granted <3
