VALUES TO REACH GOALS DREAMS PROGRAM 2021 PRESENTS VIRTUAL CONCEPT MODELS FOR EARLY TEEN

Welcome to the World of Values to Reach Goals! Hello! We have put together a little capsule with our theme: Values to Reach Goals. We wish to teach you about the importance of values, how they help achieve a goal, how they motivate you and above all- how values will guide you to your success! We will give you little tricks to help you find your values and understand your personal goals better. So sit back, relax and read up!

What are Values? Values are your beliefs and moral codes that motivate and guide you through life's journey. Your value aims to help you determine which actions are the best for your rate of success and which will help you with your survival. Not only do they help in motivation, but values also influence your behaviour.

What is a Goal? A goal is an idea or a desire that a person might have. It is their ultimate vision that they need to achieve through commitment and planning. They are more than just 'an accomplishment for a better future'- they drive a person's behaviour.

When does it Emerge? Most values like honesty, loyalty, family, etc., are woven into our hearts by our parents, caregivers, teachers and society. However, there are specific values that you gain through experience- these are acquired. Examples of these values include leadership and decisiveness- we acquire these through experiences and mistakes.

Why you need them? Values are essential not only because they help us grow and develop but also because they help us create the future we desire. Our decisions reflect our values- they are like the beacons that guide us towards our purpose or goal. Goals may change, but values are the anchors that keep us grounded and driven. They keep you motivated and help you stay productive. Setting a goal will help you focus all your energy efficiently on achieving it.

Where will you find them? While some values are instilled in us from birth through our caregivers and society, a significant chunk of values is learnt or acquired through experience. The same is for goals- it is what we want and what we desire.

How will you work with them? Values help you stay motivated and act as an internal driving force to help you achieve your goals. Values also help you make assumptions about your world- they indirectly act as a survival agent. Values influence your thoughts, decisions, actions, and behaviour and help set your career path- they are the basic foundation to finding your purpose. Goals are your purpose- they may be short-term goals like doing your homework or helping with the chores, or they may be long-term goals like working towards your dream universities or learning an important life skill. Setting goals help you stay on your toes- they keep you driven and determined.

Reflections on Values to Reach Goals Pravallika Manju Youth Mentor DREAMS Program 2021 A love for learning new things and perseverance are two values that have helped me achieve my goals many times. Being a curious mind, I never stop learning new things and implementing new ideas to try out different solutions to a problem. Sometimes it might work while other times it may not, but regardless I work through it by giving myself the time to reflect on what needs to change and continuing to take strides towards my goals instead of getting upset over setbacks and holding back. DREAMS Program 2021 Presents Virtual Concept Models For Early Teens EMPOWERMENT

Welcome to the World of Empowerment! Hello! We have put together a little capsule with our theme: Empowerment. We wish to teach you about empowerment, why it is important, why you should empower people around you and how it will help you develop into a better individual and a great leader! So sit back, relax and read up!

What is Empowerment? Empowerment is the extent of self- determination and independence a person has, which enable them to act on their authority in doing something. It is a process of gaining self-confidence and learning to control one's life and choices responsibly. Empowerment is also a process of influencing or inspiring one's peers or subordinates positively and helping them achieve a task or a goal.

When does it Emerge? Empowerment emerges from a confident and booming leader who is well aware of their tasks. Taking control of your life and its choices is one of the first steps of empowerment, followed by setting goals, developing your interests, polishing your skills and organising your goals. Empowerment also emerges when you use your talents for good- for example, using them to start a new career, or helping an NGO, perhaps! It is all about developing yourself and helping others feel empowered!

Why you need them? Empowerment is the process of encouraging your subordinates or peers to think, manage, take action and make decisions toward achieving a goal. Empowered individuals develop loyalty and trust towards their leader; there is an eagerness to contribute towards the successes. Empowered individuals are also committed, creative and productive in their work. Empowered individuals are decisive, confident and dedicated to their work. By empowering people, leaders themselves walk the path of self-improvement, where they learn to accept their mistakes and better themselves during the decision making process. Empowered leaders are empathetic and know how to bond well with their subordinates.

Where will you find them? To empower is to put power or delegate power among your subordinates and enable them to carry out a task efficiently. Empowered leaders are those people who know what outcome they need and can aim directly into the bullseye. They inspire their subordinates and gain their trust- making the environment a comforting yet professional one. They can put themselves in the driver's seat and navigate through the task. They know when to put their foot down, but they also know when to pull back. They build on their strengths and weaknesses. \"As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others.\"- Bill Gates.

How will you work with them? Setting daily goals is the best way to empower yourself- this helps organise your life and choices. Knowing what your strengths and weaknesses are and how to work with them Taking risks whenever necessary at the same time being cautious. Ability to take and accept responsibility Knowing when to say 'no.' Finally, always striving for the best!

It is, however, when you stand behind the line and support others in becoming self-leaders and reaching new heights.\"

Reflections on Leadership Soundarya Youth Mentor DREAMS Program \"I think leadership is really about being compassionate but also in a way that's assertive and taking on responsibility. I don't necessarily believe I am a leader because I think leadership really did help me be a little more assertive. empathetic and braver. I was always one to side behind the scenes and let the action happen but right now, I'm taking initiative and I take up responsibility when given which surprises me too sometimes because I was always so scared to do anything! I feel looking at people in the team really helped with that. And how I use it to inspire me, firstly I look at people like the core leads, Roseline Ma'am, and even the mentees sometimes and am fascinated by how brave they are. It inspires me too. and secondly, being a leader really seems like a recent discovery to me, I always feared being one. So I always wonder what else haven't I discovered about myself.\" Designed by: Prima Youth Coordinator DREAMS Program

Welcome to \"Joy of Giving and Receiving!\" Hello! We have put together a little capsule with our theme: The Joy of Giving and Receiving. We wish to teach you about selflessness, why it is essential, why you should reach out and give, how the receiver can feel happy and satisfied, and how it helps us develop our altruism! So sit back, relax and read up!

What is the Joy of Giving? The process of giving can manifest in several ways: It could be through giving gifts, services to those who need it, compliments, emotional support, and so many more! It is all about sharing your happiness and love with others, which helps us feel more emotionally connected. It is about giving without expecting anything in return.

What is the Joy of Receiving? The process of receiving is about learning to accept something from someone- an act of service, a gift, an idea, knowledge, anything! It is about demonstrating humility by accepting something from others with happiness. It is about earning a piece of someone else's happiness that they would like to share!

Why do you need them? Helping others makes us happier and healthier while also making others happy. Giving connects us and helps create stronger communities. The joy of giving and receiving helps us build a happier society for everyone. Giving and receiving does not necessarily have to be about money: It could be time, ideas, knowledge, love, emotional support and an act of service! You could also give the gifts of patience, wisdom, compassion, tolerance and caring- these are so much more valuable than money, which can change a person's life for good! It is about being sympathetic to the struggles of others and having empathy for them. Not only it makes the receiver happy, but the giver feels satisfied. Knowing that you are the reason someone's life changed for good or that you are the reason someone is ready to fight for their dream- isn't that rich?!

Where will you find them? Giving is all about understanding another's struggles and relationships and offering a piece of your happiness to them. It is also about helping animals! Feeding a hungry dog or saving a frightened kitten- they would be so grateful to you for helping them live another day! You could also water a drying plant or grow some saplings for Mother Nature, and you would be the reason that Earth would become a better place! You have to give without expecting something in return- give with all your heart. And when you receive it, take it with all the gratitude!

How will you work with them? The joy of giving helps us to bloom into more altruistic individuals. It makes us more empathetic to others' situations. A simple act of kindness can help change one's life! You can even give a compliment to make a person smile: It could be their clothes, hair, their works, talents, anything! It makes the person who is receiving feel appreciated and worthy. When we receive, especially when we were children, do you remember the innocent happiness that sprung out every time someone gave you candy or a toy? That excitement, that happy glint in one's eyes, that can brighten up any person's day. So remember, a small act of giving can make a huge difference. Moreover, a small gesture of gratitude from the receiver can make the giver feel content! Quoting Winnie the Pooh, \"Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.\"

Reflections on The Joy of Giving and Receiving Shobika D Mahindra Youth Mentor DREAMS Program Giving and receiving brings us a lot of delight! Most of the time, we don't need materialistic gifts; we need love, time, and attention from the ones we love. In today's fast-paced world, simply taking the time to express kindness and compassion for others can make a significant difference in their lives! Swathi Srinath Youth Mentor DREAMS Program We are always told not to expect anything in return while we give something to others. I totally understand it; sometimes, the happiness in their face, when we give, is totally worth everything. Sometimes expecting in return falls short compared to the joy we give others.

Reflections on The Joy of Giving and Receiving Shreya Sunil Youth Mentor DREAMS Program I often find equivalent happiness in giving as much as I do in receiving. The joy in helping others or making someone smile is beyond what words can express. It gives me inner satisfaction and makes my heart content. Designed by: Prima Youth Coordinator DREAMS Program
