MOT SOUTH AFRICADecember 2015Newly trained MOT Presenters inspired after MOT workshopFrom 1 to 3 December, 48 new Presenters were trained to implement the MOT programmes. Trainers from MOTSouth Africa and MOT Global facilitated various sessions on the organisation’s identity and history; the values,mission and principles; the theoretical foundations and methodology of the MOT programmes, and the practicalimplementation among the youth in South Africa.One of the new Presenters, Kim Hendricks from Child Welfare South Africa, took part in the workshop and willimplement the MOT programme in schools in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch. Kim said, “MOT has inspired me toempower myself. The workshop has reignited my passion to work with young people.”André Sampie, a Life Orientation teacher from Hout Bay High School said, “The workshop has given me theopportunity to reflect on my life and how I conduct myself in and out of the classroom. These last three days haveplanted a seed in all of us. Now it is time to go out and cultivate the seeds.”Based on feedback, the attendees rated their motivation levels on average of 6.6 on a scale of 1 to 7. They leftfeeling inspired and ready to implement the MOT programmes at their respective high schools and TVET colleges. Newly trained MOT Presenters from various High schools and TVET Colleges. MOT SA in 2015 — Highlights of the year in reviewOver the course of 2015, MOT South Africa has achieved the following: Train 102 MOT Youth Peer Educators who have impacted 2215 youth in their schools, TVET colleges and local communities through hosting MOT sessions, Courage to Care Days and awareness days. Train 142 MOT Presenters and have 11 402 youth participate in the MOT Programmes. February AugustMOT SA expanded to the Eastern Cape and trained 24 MOT SA expanded its services in Mbekweni, Paarl,MOT Presenters at Port Elizabeth College. with the training of 33 MOT Youth and Teachers from Ihlumelo and Desmond Mpilo Tutu Senior SecondaryThe Pebbles Project organisation joined MOT SA and Schools.
