Sector-7,Rohini “Every Challenge that we face is the opportunity to become more than we’ve been before” Lockdown Special 2020 ……..pushing beyond the horizon

Welcome to the special, COVID lockdown edition of our E magazine. \"Skyline - Pushing beyond the horizon‘ . Through this edition of our E magazine, I would like to send to all of you, warm greetings from the entire DAV Rohini fraternity. We all are going through an unprecedented global pandemic, where each one of us, and the entire world is affected by the virus. Through this vibrant and colourful special edition, I would like to share your anxiety and preoccupation ,and express my solidarity with you and your family. Adversity, at times, becomes a great leader. Today, when the calendar of the world is undergoing a transition, we at DAV Rohini have, efficiently and effectively, adapted ourselves to face this transition. When the entire country came to a halt, education continued at DAV Rohini through online mode of teaching; thus striking a right balance between academics and extra curricular activities. Our mission, to build our students to be responsible, aware and confident global citizens , continued even in these turbulent times. We surged ahead with a great leap of faith and hope and through the virtual classes, conveyed this message to our students that in the service of others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit. Let us in this spirit, wish and pray for all the humanity. So cheer up, and keep this optimism surging.... RAJBIR KAUR PRINCIPAL

At the onset, and in these trying times, I am reminded of the beautiful lines of Alfred Tennyson's poem, which states – \"The old order changeth, yielding place to new.... ....and God fulfils Himself in many ways... \"The order of things is indeed changing right before our eyes and the history of this time will remember, how we behaved and acted in these circumstances ; how we helped others and eased their pain ; and how our character shaped. So let's not miss the possibility that this time presents to us to be ‘ heroic ’. Let's be the drivers of change, and let the world know that we did not bow to the situation, rather faced the situation boldly. I am thankful to all my colleagues, who dipped their oars into the turbulent water of this pandemic and have virtually motivated and inspired the students to come out with this vibrant and colourful addition of Skyline, thus ensuring, that it sailed to the shore smoothly. I greatly applaud the efforts of all our teachers, who have continued their journey of imparting holistic education to the torch bearers of our future. Looking forward to the good times.. hosts Shine with the vibrance of colours Albert Einstein once said, \"Life is like riding a Students’ bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep Creativity moving“ However difficult the times might be, the zest with which the DAVians move forward in life, is a source of inspiration to all. In the current times, when everything is at a halt, DAV Rohini organised an inter school Art Competition, “Palette 2020”, providing the budding talents a platform to shine. 30 schools participated in the competition. The vibrance of colours in their art showcased that these young talented minds are maneuvering into a world full of positivity and hope. The judges were left in awe of the beauty of their minds and of how these artists let their creative juices take over to create something that they strongly believed in. Each and every art work created here was special and what mattered the most was the thought that went into creating these marvels. We, DAVians will never cease to motivate LINK:- young buds to follow their passion and better https://youtu.be/ZFFhpfrGzyE themselves, whatever the circumstances be. An Incident that touched my heart A man came from his office expecting his 8 years - Aarav Gautam VII A old son to open the door. The son opened the door and the man entered the house and seated himself on the sofa. The son who was sitting beside him asked innocently. \"Dad how much are you paid for an hour? The man got furious and scolded the child, but after several pleadings of the son the man told him he got Rs. 100 for an hour. The child said, \"Dad can I get Rs. 50?\" Father howled, \"This is why you asked that question? Just get back to your room.“ The son got up and went up to his room and shut the door. The father then realized that he had been rude to his son. He went to his son's room, unlocked it and asked his son. \"Are you asleep\"? Son said \"No,‘I’m not.\" The father offered him a Rs. 50 note. The son took it, turned to his pillow and brought out another crushed note of Rs. 50. The father asked, \"If you already had a Rs. 50 note why did you ask for another one?“ The child took both the notes handed it to his father and said innocently. \"Dad here is Rs. 100 can I have one hour of yours.....?
