FAQs What type of events is your venue suitable for? We pride ourselves on the versatility of our venue and our events team. We know each event is unique, so whether you’re a company looking to host a corporate event, or a private individual wanting a family party, our Event Co-ordinators will work with you to create the perfect package for your day. Some examples of previous events held with us include: intimate birthday celebrations, anniversary parties, wakes and memorial celebrations, corporate product launches and champagne receptions, awards dinners, charity balls and staff social parties. What is included in the venue hire fee? Your venue hire fee includes exclusive use of the venue if hiring the whole venue, or you can hire rooms individually but this does not guarantee exclusivity. It also includes crockery, glassware, furniture and table linen along with an Event Co-ordinator to assist with the plans for your event. How are your packages created and how do I confirm a booking? Following a visit to our venue and meeting with one of our events team, we will discuss your ideas and put together a bespoke, no obligation quote for you. Should you decide to hold your event with us, we can provisionally hold a date for up to 2 weeks. Once you have confimed you would like to go ahead, we require a non-refundable deposit, which will either be your room hire costs, or £1000, whichever is lower, to secure the date. When would we get access to the venue for set up? Your venue hire fee must include any set up time you need for your event, this includes time required for any external suppliers you may have (such as casinos, lighting or staging companies etc) to come in. The events team will lay up for your event and can set up any table centre pieces or additional details you require. Can we provide our own catering? All catering must be provided by the Kingston Maurward catering team, however our written menus are just suggestions so should you have any ideas then our events team and chefs will be happy to discuss a bespoke menu with you.
What additional suppliers can I use? Some events may require additional services such as a disco, bands, musicians, casinos, photo booths, magicians, sweet carts, ice cream vans or celebration cakes, and these are permitted once discussed with your Event Co-ordinator. We have a list of recommended suppliers that we often welcome to our venue but do not insist you use these. Please speak with your Event Co-ordinator if you wish to know more. Can I bring my own alcohol? Should you wish, you can bring your own wine; corkage is charged at £10.50 per 75cl bottle of wine and £12.50 per 75cl of sparkling wine. We are happy to discuss any bespoke requests for the bar and can source any particular requirements if we are able. Can we have fireworks? Unfortunately not. Being on an agricultural site means we do not allow fireworks as this upsets our livestock. What time does the bar close? Included in our venue hire for parties over 50 guests, is our fully staffed and stocked cash or card bar. If your party has less than 50 guests, a staffing cost of £50 will apply. Our bar will close at 11.30pm, with guests departing at midnight. However this can be extended if you wish at a cost of £100 pereach additional 30 minutes. Do you supply a PA system? We do! Our Maurward Hall is fitted with a PA system and microphones suitable for presentations or speeches. We also have a mobile music and PA system that can be used inside or outside. Can guests park overnight? Absolutely, we have ample free parking on site and guests can leave cars in designated car parks overnight. These are however left at owners’ risk. What happens when we leave? We ask that you take with you any valuables when you leave such as gifts and celebration cakes. Anything else we will gather up and arrange a suitable time for you to collect.
