MESSAGE FROM MANAGING DIRECTOR Sharon, thank you for highlighting the award to me as Sarawak Master Entrepreneur 2019. In fact, Sarawak Chamber of Commerce & Industry invited me to submit particulars for their consideration of this award for 2018 but I declined as Chemsain was happy to go on without much publicity. However, they made the approach again for the year 2019 award and I agreed as I thought it would not be nice to decline again. The Sarawak Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2019 were presented on 22nd November 2019. This event was organized by the Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development, Sarawak, in Association with Sarawak Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Ernst & Young. This prestigious Awards Program (“EOYS”) was first launched in 2004 and is held annually to honour and acknowledge exceptional entrepreneurial talent and leadership. Though this prestigious award is in recognition of my life journey and the growth and development of Chemsain Group of Companies over the years, but to me, all staff members have contributed and played a great role in bringing up Chemsain to become the biggest well-established and reputable company providing scientific and technological consultancy and supporting services with various Branches to cover the whole of Malaysia. So, in true fact, I received the above-mentioned award in recognition of all members of Chemsain and the Company. Therefore, I would like to express my grateful thanks to all Chemsain Directors and supporting staff for their loyalty, hard work, dedication and commitment without which Chemsain would not have achieved such a success. Basically, the success formula for Chemsain is that whatever we do in life, it must be with integrity to win over the confidence and trust from others. Chemsain conducts its business based on this principle. In addition, we bring on board the best people and provide them with good and useful training so that they can in return serve the Company well with efficiency and high productivity. Chemsain has, over the years, built a good and dedicated team which is well capable to bring the Company to greater heights. As many of you know, I have a tough life experience to improve myself and this would encourage the young to be determined to work hard to better themselves. Also, like me, the retirees can venture into business to keep themselves active and useful in life. The important thing in life is to be thankful with what you are blessed and also active and enjoy what you are doing and leave the rest to God. Chan Woon Peng November & December 04
