PROFESSIONAL STAFF AWARDS College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce Embracing Leadership Qualities This category is aimed at all levels. The individual consistently demonstrates leadership qualities, driving results, enacting change, navigating complexities and inspiring others. They promote a sense of collegiality. They are authentic, gain people’s trust by demonstrating openness and act in line with the organisational values. They are resilient especially when faced with challenges. They may or may not manage a team however when it comes to working with people they motivate, guide and maintain productive relationships fostering cooperative and collaborative behaviour. They are result orientated including establishing plans to meet strategic and operational priorities. Outstanding Service Includes: Student experience, External stakeholders, Internal staff experience, Operational excellence Performing at consistent and sustained levels as they relate to ‘customer service’ (the customer could be a student, staff member, committee or other stakeholder). The nominee regularly goes ‘above and beyond’ to ensure the desired outcome; resolving customer concerns in a calm, positive and sensitive manner and making customers feel valued and appreciated. PROVOST TEACHING AWARDS College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce College Provost Teaching Awards La Trobe University is committed to achieving high quality learning outcomes for its students through the delivery of distinctive and relevant courses. The College Provost Teaching Awards are awarded in recognition of teaching and teaching support activities by individuals and teams that achieve these objectives. The awards also provide an important opportunity for teaching staff to reflect on their teaching practice and to build momentum in their teaching careers. There are three distinct award categories: • Provost Teaching Award • Provost Early Career Teaching Award • Provost Sessional Teaching Award College Provost Teaching Awards are self-nominated and are available to individuals and teams who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, enhancing student success and engagement within their discipline. College Provost Early Career Teaching Awards are also self-nominated and are available to individuals who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, enhancing student success and engagement within their discipline. Eligible staff will have less than seven years teaching experience. College Provost Sessional Teaching Awards will be awarded to sessional teaching staff nominated by Subject or Course Coordinators, who have demonstrated excellent performance in their roles as sessional faculty.
