PDF SETTINGSPDF/X-4:2008 is the actively preferred Preset for saving out your print-ready artwork, which in turnconforms to all our Digital Print and Press environments. This setting is accessed through the ‘Save As > PDF’ menu within your design package... Tick the ‘Create Acrobat Layers from Top-Level Layers’ button when saving files which need to be profile cut to shape - see belowCAURTT-WTOO-RSKHAPEFor any and all artwork that is being profile cut to shape, a vector based cut path needs to bespecified within your supplied document. Within your design package, nominally Illustrator, aseparate layer needs to be defined. Due to the nature of this process, we would encourage bleed tobe added to your document to allow for any slight wander of the cutting blade during production. Define a new layer within the application - typically this would be called ‘Cut’ or ‘Cutter’Once your file is ready, please output your document as a PDF using the method as detailed above.

SAQRTUWAROERCKUTWhen saving out your artwork, the document needs to be defined by crop-marks which will confirmthe finished trimmed size. If you are saving out a document which is full bleed, then a minimum of3mm bleed is ideally required to all edges of the artwork. The documents crop-marks need to also beoffset by the same amount as the bleed - settings can all be found within the same menu screen. 3mm Offset 3mm BleedWe hope that all of this information is helpful to you.
