Gloss and silk coated papers are less absorbent and can lead to weaker We can only Perfect Bind documents we print in house. As bindings. Soft covers can be matt, matt soft touch or gloss with Saddle Stitched documents we require PDF files with laminated. The process also uses specific endpapers to bind suitable ‘safety borders’ and bleed. In order to bind these the pages into the spine - this means inside covers are types of documents they should have enough pages to unprinted and an unprinted ‘fly leaf’ appears at the front & create a spine, this generally being above 40pp (printed back of each document. We use two glue systems to make Perfect Bound & Case Bound books; EVA Glue dries fairly quickly so normal turnaround is 2-3 working days depending on work-flow and the files supplied. In some case we can shorten this (although additional charges are made) but we do not recommend this. We do not recommend that you use multiple paper types as these will weaken the binding. Whilst weappreciate the use of tracing paper has creative possibilities, it does not bind well and may mean pages become lose and fall out of the document. Acetate has no absorbency and will not bind successfully, thicker papers also used to divide sections also create a weakness in the binding. PUR Glue is much stronger than EVA Glue and will create a more durable binding. It will also allow slightly thicker stock and the use of tracing papers (not acetate). However, this glue type cures slowly over a period of time meaning lead times will be generally 3-4 working days. From the point a document is bound it requires 24hrs minimum before it can be handled. Costs for this option are slightly above EVA glue bindings. 07
