Charlatans and Charlatanism is the revolving topic of this issue of typo. It will talk about phonies, fakes, frauds, acts, and everything in between. We will test your capability of finding out which really is true, and which is just a charlatan. It can be observed that people could never be 100% true to our- selves, and that’s a fact. As the youth of today, we are still growing, going through life as a process while we still figure everything out. If a crime of the past is worthy of grave and unrelenting damnation, heavier the castigation must be to those who enabled its reprieve. The premise being said, these apologists warrant another ring of hell: the tenth circle below the Marcoses’ ninth. Their enthusiastic devotion and blinded fanaticism to that wretched dynasty per- mitted and enforced the vast delusion that the Marcos years were a golden age—that claim is an affront to each Filipino who perished and agonised under their totalitarian rule—if it was a golden era, it was for record-breaking bankruptcy, deterioration, and misery veiled behind a rotten edifice built on the insufferable ignorance of their followers (count yourself amongst them if you do so much as concur with their lies). The iniquity of condonation exceeds the severity of treason; it is no longer an offence made to outrage the State—it is a crime to mock all princi- ples of humanity. An apologist is an accomplice who enjoys 3,257 blood-chilling slaughters. An apologist is another cultist who revels in 35,000 insensate tortures. The Marcoses freely traverse the same Manila which, in a now forgotten time, rose to revolution against them. These brazen felons have the gall to step on the soil of the nation they have licentiously molested; they remorselessly walk on the ground that remains blood- crimson with their guilt. Thirty-four years ago, the thought of their return would have been dismissed with a derisive scoff; now, who jests? Who are the genuine clowns and the actual laughingstocks, dearest bystander? To condone or to condemn; this is not a question—it is an ultimatum.

In such cases, how do we fake it the right way? Seek for your own happiness first. Being stranded in this place could really be tiring and depressing not knowing which way to go and being left with life-defining choices where in both ways will come the need of faking to get through. what kind of Ride Are you?WordsbyJeannetteR.Ong Graphics by Kirsten Chloe D. Hernandez Based on your personality, are you the one that makes people scream or the one that just keeps them calm? A trip to the carnival will never be complete if you would not experience the center of attraction of these funfairs—the amusement rides. Definitely, no one would ever want to miss these rides that keep you at the edge of your seats! There are different kinds of amusement rides that can be found in a carnival. You can find slow and steady rides which are usually for the young ones and for those who are young at heart. On the other hand, you can also spot extreme rides that move at swooping speeds and will keep you screaming at the top of your lungs. Either way, we all enjoy these. Find out which amusement ride matches your personality by answering the quiz below! On the scale of 1-10, rate yourself based on the following statements: 1. I say “YES!” to everything! Nevermind the 4. If unexpected and unfortunate things things that could happen after it, all I know happen, I always rise up to the occasion. I is just to go for the moment! was born and raised to be a fighter! 2. I always decide for myself in the decisions 5. There’s nothing better than being able that I make. I do not usually ask for advice to conquer the tests that life has given me. I am able to become a better person through from other people. My life, my rules! these. 3. I take risks all the time as it makes living 6. I am that kind of person who is always up more exciting and adventurous. Who needs to any challenge. If not for them, I wouldn’t have the experiences and wisdom I have now. Add the points that you got and if you round up… …a score of 103-120 points, The ROLLER COASTER matches the adventurous and daring risk-taker that you are! As it is famous for its tight turns, steep slopes, and inversions flying at high speeds, you have a brave heart as you handle all of these courageously. You never stop taking the next steps even though you know it can be a faint of the heart. This is the reason why there are downs at times, but you never stop going; which is why you also rise up eventually. You find these obstacles the most exciting part of your adventure as these make you a stronger and wiser individual. Truly, risk is your middle name! Never stop astonishing the crowd with your wit and skills in maneuvering through the daredevil tracks of life! 20
…a total of 85-102 points, You are in control of your own BUMPER CAR, Mx. Driver! You certainly are an independent person and you do not like taking orders from others. You always follow what your heart wants despite what others would say about you. Also, you are ready to crash anyone who is blocking your way. Determined as you are, you do everything and anything that you can in order to reach your point of destination. You know how to handle and maximize the things that you have to stand out in the fleet. You really know what you want and you really know how to get it! Uphold the competitive and strong- willed personality that you have and put the pedal to the metal. Nobody should ever stop you! …a sum of 67-84 points, You never stop reaching the top just like how the DROP TOWER plops. You always go slow and steady upon working your way towards the peak of your dreams. Though unfortunately, life as it is, there are instances that bring you down, but these do not stop you. You are enthusiastic and persistent which drives you to continue going on in your journey and to strive harder to reach your goals. Failures happen and these make you more determined to triumph. These moments prove you can overcome anything as long as you put yourself into it. Giving up was, is, and will never be a part of your vocabulary! Rise up and make it to the top for you are the warrior that conquers it all. …a result of 49-66 points, As the FERRIS WHEEL goes up and down slowly, so are you. Like how the gigantic rotating wheel moves round and round, there are times when you are above it all, and there are also times when you are stuck under your burdens. But as the wheel goes, you are always able to eventually get through it all. The strong and courageous personality that you have is what keeps you withstanding everything. For you, going down and below means working to rise up and dominate again. You also rarely take risks in your decision making since you prefer to go around things steadily and carefully. As the old saying goes, you always get there slowly, but surely. Inch by inch, never stop making progress and making it to the top! …a mark of 31-48 points, Risks are a no-no for you, which is why the CAROUSEL mirrors your prudent and vigilant personality. You do not want to stray away from your usual routines. You do not want change. Similar to how the horses rotates around with the platform, you always go with the things which are already familiar to you. Also, you are systematic and organized with your day-to-day lifestyle and activities as you want the future to be guaranteed for you. You always plan ahead of everything and take thorough measures to avoid unexpected outcomes. Definitely, assurance and security are the things that keep your heart at peace! Always keep your feet at the ground as you go on and plot your plans! …a tally of 12-30 points, You are still not ready to take the wheel as you are still riding on a TRAIN EXPRESS. Like how the train has its own driver, you need someone to lead you. You are dependent on the people around you and do really use guidance and advice from them. You might still be scared of being in charge of your own life as it holds a lot of risks and uncertainties that could bring some unfortunate events. Of course, being an adult would never be an easy task but it is something that we all should start working on. One day, you will get to that stage and will need to handle whatever may happen in the future. Start deciding for your own, may it be just a small decision to make! Small steps are still a progress! 21
