FEATURES 8 The First With onebyquMarItKeAr EoLvAer LiLnAoNuEr Ssenior high school’s first semester, the hardly small community of over 1,200 students have exhibited so much more than a single photograph can capture. Through Wash Day, Green Day and even Corpo Day, the Senior High students aim to both express and impress by pulling together their most creative outfits within the confines of the student handbook rules. Even on regular days, be it in a P.E or in standard school uniform; the Senior High Students continue to carry the name of De La Salle Lipa with the brand of prestige true to its name. Although there is an air of esteem expected from these students especially since they have been dubbed the so- called ‘ates’ and ‘kuyas’ of the Integrated School, they are still just teenagers. Amidst academic requirements and the stress that comes with it, along with typical high school drama and everything in between, the beautiful thing about the 11th graders is their ability to still find their own silver linings through all of those. These photos may be mere images of the day to day life of a student, but it is also a reflection of who we are as Lasallians; the definition can only come from your interpretation alone. Be these students loaded with performance tasks, or friends out for lunch, or classmates running errands – these photographs combined are pieces of a much bigger picture, of what this newfound community stands for, UNITY. How about you, what’s your definition?

With that said, commendable Christian values, brilliance carried out with outstanding bravura, involvement within the populace, and being of interest to societal issues like having a soft spot for the globe are being embodied by a Lasallian persona. Along the lines of these aspects are sets of instructions or programs, which seek to heighten our certain attempts and struggles, and to put our shoulders on the wheel on every occasion. The supposed “Lasallian Earth Day” crusade aims to give ground- ing on students with regard to the climate change every first Friday of the month. The silent majority is stimulated to be dressed in any green or with a gist of green attire (yet again keeping an eye on the dress code) while other students will be in their Type B uniform in compliance to their schedule. Similarly, an hour is allotted for denizens of classrooms and offices to switch off the lights and ACUs with the provision that learning pursuits will be lessened. As proud Lasallians, we are entitled of the responsibility to look after our own planet – the abode we pay a visit and call “HOME”.
