Unit VI: Post writing stage elements of dissertation – Preliminaries, title page, table of contents, proof reading etc. PAPER – II: GENERAL MANAGEMENT Unit I: Managing & Managers; Evolution of Management Theories; Principles of Management; Organisational Behaviour; Structure & Processes in Organizations; Human Resource Management & its Dimensions; Industrial Relations & Labour Laws Unit II: Orientation of Modern Marketing; Analyzing Market Opportunities: Marketing Environment and Environment Scanning, Analyzing Market Environment; Marketing Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning; Brand and Brand Management; Strategic Planning in Marketing Management; Marketing Mix; Marketing Research and Consumer Behaviour; Service Marketing.

Unit III: Financial Management and Policy - Concept, Objectives and components of Strategic planning process; Linkage between corporate strategy and financial strategy; Components of Financial Planning: Capital budgeting, Capital structure and Dividend policy, Security Valuation Principles and Models: Bonds, Equities, Preference shares. Unit IV: Concept of Operations Management - Productivity Techniques - Productivity improvement measures; Production systems - Product design and Process selection - Make or buy decision using the Break-even –analysis - Supply Chain Management - Forecasting Techniques - Aggregate planning - Inventory Management - Concept of Total Quality Management. PAPER – III: ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUES IN RESEARCH Unit I: Conduct a comparative evaluation of quantitative, qualitative, experimental, and survey research Methods; design research based upon the research question and constraints; Ontological and epistemological assumptions of qualitative research; Consistency between research questions and methods adopted; Selecting a qualitative research method; Designing qualitative research: site selection, sampling, and data collection Unit II: Data analysis: Case analysis, cross-case comparison, coding procedures; Writing and publishing qualitative research Unit III: Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analysis using the following tests: Tests between Means of Different Groups, Tests between Means of Related Groups, Processing and Analysis of Data; Use of SPSS in Data Analysis; Testing of Hypothesis – Meaning, Concepts, Parametric tests - z- test, t-test, F-test and Chi-Square test, Nonparametric tests – Sign Test and Mann-Whitney U test; ANOVA, Factorial ANOVA, Correlation Unit IV: Multivariate Analysis: Factor Analysis; Cluster Analysis; Discriminant Analysis; Multidimensional Scaling; Conjoint Analysis. Unit V: Regression analysis; Structural Equation Modeling; Analytical Hierarchy Process; Writing and Presentation of Research Report PAPER IV: COMPUTER APPLICATIONS IN RESEARCH Unit I : Basic knowledge of computer unit Unit II : Use of computer in research unit Unit III : Use of technology and other equipments in research Unit IV : Data analysis software and analysis techniques use of multimedia tools use of ms office preparation of power point presentations use of internet for research Unit V : purpose introduction to UGC-Infonet, INFLIBNET and ERNET etc. Practical Work (as required under the above units) -------------
