World Diabetes Day November 14 Cultural Night November 22 Insert Text Here Bayou Classic November 30 American Diabetes Month ……………………………………………………… November is American Diabetes Month we want you all to be aware of how serious this disease can be. 30.3 million US adults have diabetes, and 1 in 4 of them don’t know they have it. Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the US. It is the number one cause of kidney failure, lower-limb amputations, and adult blindness. At risk patients include: prediabetics, overweight, 45 years or older, parents/brother/sister with type 2 diabetes, physically active less than 3 times a week, had gestational diabetes, or given birth to a baby who weighs more than 9 pounds, African American, Hispanic/Latino American, American Indian, or Alaska Native.
