The Battle to save Londons Live Music Venues continues... The topic of London losing its grassroots music venues has remained a major concern in recent years. Head of UK Music Michael Douglas has explained that the issue is developers are moving next to existing music venues and complaining about the noise. 'The Agent of change' principle was then introduced in London where developers have to pay for the soundproofing of properties. As a result, UK Music are pushing for the government to enforce this ‘Agent of Change’ principle as a law across the UK to save not only music venues in London, but across all cities in the UK. Following this discussion, politician Sajid Javid has promised changes to the UK wide planning policies that the government expects building developers and authorities to legally comply with.
