A Message from the Mayor Today is a new era in Inglewood. This brochure contains a snapshot of data representative of the overall fiscal, economic and quality of life indicators of the City of Inglewood. The City Council and I are working hard to provide solid leadership and make long-term decisions that will provide prosperity, safety and a high standard of living for our residents now and for the foreseeable future. We will produce a compilation of these indicators on a quarterly basis when possible. In summary, as of August 2017, Inglewood is strengthening on all economic fronts. Sales tax revenues are outpacing the County, indicating more outside interest in buying things here. Crime is trending downward, commercial rents are competitive, and the price of homes is shooting up. Inglewood residents are finding work, and the Hollywood Park development is providing jobs for people who live here. Revenues to the City from Building permits reflect bustling growth in all construction segments. I have the plan and we have the right team in place to continue to provide the financial opportunities to our businesses and the solid economic foundation for our citizens. My colleagues on the City Council and I are focused on controlling our own destiny. We will create jobs. We will engineer economic opportunities and continue to build community pride. JMaamyoers T. Butts, Jr.1
