“ I chose Gozo because this island is small and very natural, with a lot less tourism than in Malta. I want to improve my English as it is the only language I use for traveling. My teachers were very good and I had the advantage of learning in smallclasses. My favourite place in Gozo is Xlendi, I love it! I was very satisfied, I wantto come back ;-)Sabine, General English student ”“ Very good teachers and it was easy to improve my English. All the staff is amazing, Viktoria, Catherine, and her husband Brian. They organise a lot of activities, like boat trips, walks around the island or a day in Valletta.I recommend Gozo and the IELS school and recommend to live in theresidence too because it’s very easy for everyone, very good ambiance here. Thanks to all of you! Antoinette, Intensive English student ”58 @ielsmalta www.ielsmalta.com

“ I wanted to strengthen my speaking skills as I’m a journalist and sometimes have interviews in English. I took a conversation class and it was perfect for me: I learned a lot of new vocabulary and now feel much more comfortable in English after this week. Francesco, my teacher, was very kind, he always gives lessons with a smile in a very dynamic and friendly atmosphere. Léonor, Conversation English student ”“ I’m a Maths Teacher in Cyprus and attended General English Courses for 2 months. It was so important for my job, because we teach in English. This is a good opportunity to speak English all the day and make new friends. Malta gave me the chance to have friends all over the world. I am still keeping in touch with them. I stayed at Day’s Inn Residence that is really close to school and at the heart of Sliema. I had great time at school, I even took a level change test and changed my class to a higher level. I love my classmates and my teachers Ivan and Chris. It was the best time of my life, I miss Malta a lot!Ayten, General English student ” 59www.ielsmalta.com @ielsmalta

ALUMNI FLASHBACK“ Hello, you all! Well… Talking about my stay in Malta is the same as talking about one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. I took a General English course at IELS for 4 weeks. These weeks have been wonderful and I have had the opportunity not only to improve the language, but also to meet people from all over the world and enjoyed some tours of Malta that the school itself offers. To begin with, the very first day I was received with much kindness and joy. I was accompanied to the room where I made the student card (which is very important to visit museums and earn discounts in various places of the country) and the placement test. After taking the test and being placed in the advanced class (level C1), I had the first classes and it did not take long to notice that they were super interactive, fun and with practical application in our routine. All this was confirmed in the following weeks - the material adopted by the institution + the teacher + students from different countries = perfect combination. I chose to study English because it is essential for my professional training: at university, I am a Liberal Arts student (Portuguese and English Languages as a Major). Besides, I intend to be a good translator and English teacher in the future. However, the gains I have made go beyond professional life - I feel more confident to travel, speak and use English in a variety of ways, I made great friends and felt comfortable exploring a country quite different from mine. And talking about exploring, I could not fail to say that Malta is an island country full of culture and that it has a lot of history to tell us. Visiting its museums, I have known several archaeological finds that are more than 5 thousand years old! I saw paintings, sculptures, armour, weapons, and artefacts older than my own country. There are also several forts, paradisiac beaches, a unique architecture (how not to mention the beautiful balconies?) and delicious cuisine. To summarize, I usually say that Malta meets all tastes: if you like parties, there is Paceville. If you like adventure, there are several places to explore, climb and contemplate a stunning landscape; If you like cultural programs, there are theatres and shows; if you like history, there are many incredible museums and places to see. If you like sea ... then, definitely, this is the country for you to go! Malta has become my destination since, a year ago, my boyfriend moved to the country. Needless to say that after several months away from each other, meeting him enriched my experience and made the moments even more magical and romantic. I returned to Brazil with my bags full of the most intense and good feelings, extremely happy and with much nostalgia. I hope the time passes quickly so that soon I will come back and have many more stories to tell! ”Lorrayne, IELS alumni coming back soon! “ The world has become smaller than ever before so one of most significant thing is learning English for business life. For this reason I’ve decided to come to Malta to improve my general English and it was such a wonderful experience for me. I also improved my English skills more than ı expected. Now I live in Toronto to keep studying English. Acquiring a new skill is a process, and it takes a long time. I strongly recommend that people should start learning it as soon as possible, thank you IELS! Mert, IELS alumni on an English-learning journey ”72 www.ielsmalta.com @ielsmalta
